My band just finished our first song! The final mastering has yet to be done, but tell me what you think! The death metal guys will be pretty disappointed, lol.

    Here is the MP3 file.

Not my favorite kind of music, but pretty good anyway, Tool and Metallica come to mind. Well, played, arranged and produced. Good singer, maybe a bit too Hetfieldish in the chorus. Good guitar solo :D would have been awsome with harmonies on the repeting melody thing at the end ;)

Tool came to my mind too, but I don't actually think it really sounded anything like Tool...

Didn't really like the singer all that much - there was this one bit where it was kinda yelled (probably the bit described as Hetfieldish :p ) that really jarred me. Still, the singing was good, just not my thing.

The music was really good. Had a nice feel to it.

So overall - while I didn't really like it as such, it was really really good :)

Overall I liked it too... :thumb:

However, the lyrics didn't really do it for me, but compared to other mainstream rock songs I guess it's ok.

No worries, the guitar solo harmonies are coming in the final mix. There's about 3 harmonised tracks we are going to stick in. Hehe.

Our singer/lead guitarist was raised on Metallica, so yep it definitely shows. Might have to lose that "Hetfield" voicing. I'll give him some helium before gigs. :D

Lol the lyrics were written in about 5 minutes - we needed something to sing over the music! I literally did it over the phone with the singer while I was at work in the lab spinning down samples in a centrifuge! :D

Thanks for the feedback guys, keep em coming!

My dear sweet merciful mother in heaven! You must now take an oath before man and God that you will never ever again sing in public. - Edward van Helgen, Curse of Monkey Island.

I suppose this music is good for anybody who likes the style.
I think it's horrible, simply because I don't like the style. Take that as a compliment.

This is good. The emotive solo fits really well in the music.
About the vocalist...he is good except when he tries to sing in a more agressive tone where he sounds almost like Hetfield.

Good luck for you and the band.
