I am surprised at how popular Dolores O'Riordan is on Sorcerers. Shes not exactly popular in her home country and no-one can stand her harsh singing style.

All right, I guess I had enough time to think about this.

    1. Janis Joplin. I fully agree with T2.
    2. Eva Cassidy. Probably the odd one out in this list, since she is a bit more jazzy, but she was a great singer.
    3. Melissa Etheridge. She rocks

4... and then it became a little bit harder. I mostly listen to male vocalists, and although I know plenty of songs from female singers, I'm not really familiar with most of their repetoire. I could probably fill the list up with people like Dolores O'Riordan (she isn't that bad) or Tracy Chapman (Fast Car is a great song), but I'm gonna stick with a top three.

Oh, and anybody who says Janis wasn't the best that ever lived is just plain wrong :p

cyndi lauper? pffffff! that's like putting madonna on the list.

And yes, although I neglected to put her on my list- Janis Joplin rocks. She sings to the soul.
