An interesting discussion I had with someone today left me wondering what percentage of people do walk in their sleep. My guess is that there are a lot more people who talk in their sleep then walk in their sleep.

Does it count if I only sleeptalk when I'm piss drunk? Bec. when I'm sober, I don't. And as walking is extremely hard for me when I'm drunk, Sleepwalking is probably out of the question :p

I've been told I talk in my sleep... which makes sense as I also talk alot when I'm awake.
AFAIK I don't walk in my sleep, but then again, I'd be asleep if I did, so it makes sense I don't know about it even if I do.

As far as sleeptalking is concerned, no. Now as for sleepwalking just once, when I was in the army. I walked from my company's building to the unit's HQ building (wearing just a boxer), I went inside from the backdoor and the night officer was scared as hell when he suddenly saw me walking in front of him.

My brother used to do something closer to sleepscream. He'd start screaming in the dead of night, and eventually would get out of bed and run in the house. It's odd he could actually find his way around at the speed he was running. Anyway, he once broke down a door that was in his way (I kid you not), and another time jumped on me (that hurt). Sometimes he would even talk to us afterwards, but could never remember what he was dreaming. And of course, in the morning, he had completely forgotten anything had ever happened. He was like that for several years, and then all of a sudden it just went away. Odd.

I sleepwalked one time as far as i can tell, and the reason i can tell about it, is because it involved my girlfriend. You see...in my dream i was walking down the stairs to go to the bathroom. I peed, and went back upstairs to go back to bed. This was all in my dream... what i did in reality, was get up, walk around the bed, and pee all over my sleeping girlfriend. Then i walked back to my side of the bed and got back to sleep. A few minutes later i woke up, because i had a feeling i was sweating an awful lot. Of course it wasn't sweat. When i also got confronted with a raging girlfriend, who just took a quick shower, i slowly started realizing what happened. Pretty disgusting eh ? :D

The only thing i can add to it in my defense, is that i was completely drunk when i went to bed. This story is almost too insane to be true, but unfortunately it really happened.

When I was in the army, a guy who lived in my room was screaming and kicking the walls almost every night. He never left the bed, but he sure made some noise.

Sleeptalking only happens when I'm deeply concerned with something and it won't let me sleep. Sometimes, in such cases, I might sit down on my bed and wake up. Sleep walking has never happened, though.

They said I talked in my sleep earlier, but that was long ago. I didn't think it was worth mentioning, so voted no. It was only partly true.

btw Pacman, that IS insane. Literary (of wat letterlijk ook betekend) speaking, that is... ;)

According to my dad, I have sleep walked before, but it happened when I was very young. He says I ran down the stairs from my room, ran into the kitchen, lifted the lid of the garbarge can and went pee in there. Then I went back up to my room to sleep.

I've never been told that I sleepwalk or have sleepwalked, but I've been told in the past that I sleeptalk. Though I must admit, I've never been awake to hear it myself and it's for that same reason that I refuse to acknowledge that I may snore as well.

I sleep talk if I have something important on my mind or I feel guilty. Or rather, I sleep mutter.

As for the sleep walk thing, when I was a kid, if I was asleep and had to go to the bathroom, I would get out of bed, walk to the bathroom, shut the door and lock it, and go pee. I would then flush, wash my hands and go back to bed without ever waking up.

The major problem with this is, and you other guys will back me up, peeing with your eyes closed is different then just finding the bathroom. Had to drop that habit quick.

I don't sleeptalk, but my youngest brother do. It's really annoying, because he being 12 years only he sure talks LOUD. One day I will layeth the smackdown on him. ;)

I don't know anyone who has and I haven't ever. Although my dog sleep-barks... does that count?

Seems like there are a lot of sleep-peers here. My best friend told me that her sister's, husband's, brother once sleep walked into the kitchen when his mother was having guests over. He proceeded to open the fridge and pee in there. Talk about spoiling your supper! :aaa:

This topic started when my husband told me about someone he encountered in army training who was a sleep walker. My husband told me that he would never want to be in the trenches with him. Who knows what kind of mischief he could cause when he was asleep.

Apparently, I used to sleepwalk. I don't remember it happening, in fact I only knew because they told me the next morning. It was kind of freaky.

Sleeptalk, not sure if I still do that but I used to.

I walk and talk in my sleep.

I walk in my sleep if I am sleeping in an uncomfortable spot. Just last friday I was sleeping on the floor and for some reason I got up and started walking toward the front door as if I was drunk. (I was drinking but only till tipsy) Luckily my friend stopped me before I hurt myself and took me to bed.

(I have no memory of this; all this comes from what they told me. But I do know that I went to sleep on the floor and woke up in a bed.)

I do not know what causes me to sleep walk.
