[IMG] Well, funnily enough, I got through the dungeon and into Athkatla fairly quickly! I was quite surprised to be honest, as I expected it to take me as long getting through it as it did the first one.

Anyway, one odd thing that happened is that when I got into Athkatla, Imoen was taken away by the Wizard dudes, only thing is, she wasn't really there, as she was killed in Jons dungeon!

Imoen can't get killed in Jon's dungeon. Her hp goes to 1, she screams about not wanting to go through this again, and she runs out ahead of you. You basically catch up to her at the exit and then she gets taken.

    @ Newfie

That was the 4th module in the "Against the Slave Lords" series. I think the title was "In the Dungon of the Slave Lords." The set up was a little lame, as you finished module 3 by finding a "secret enterance" to the Slave Lords Hide-out, only to enter into a (unbreakable) glass cell which then filled with no-save brand sleeping gas as the assembled Slave Lords watched and chuckled. I was DMing and a couple of my player were really torqued, with good reason. Good news was the Dungon rocked, and the party of course felt great when they escaped and planted the boot of Justice squarely in the backside of those Evil Doers.

a quick pointer, mel ti, is that you should pick up a spellcaster or two when you run through the game your first time, even if you're going with a fighter, to get used to how the magic works. because, i just know you'll have to play the game again...and again...and again... and spellcasters are the best :D

I recommand that you wait to dual-class until you have played through the game at least once. This is because once you dual-class, you're stuck with the new class. In addition, playing a good-aligned character is also a good idea, because most of the best NPCs that can join your party are good-aligned characters (I might be wrong about this). Furthermore, if you play an evil character, you will be attacked by Knights of the Radiant Hart and Cowled Wizards while you're in Amn. Here's one final tip: don't cast any mage spells in Amn until you get a license from the Council of the Six. I can't remember who you go to in order to get it, but you'll need at least 5,000 gold to get it. Once you get the license, you can then use mage spells without being attacked by Cowled Wizards, just as long as you don't start killing people.

I think you only get attacked on sight if your reputation rating drops to 1. Fortunately, that is quite hard to achieve.

When you randomly kill some peasants your reputation will drop fast enough.

Actually Western Paladin, according to the manual, when your reputation hits 3, there's a chance that the Knights of the Heart and or the Cowled Wizards come after you. You may be attack by one of them, or worse, by both! When your reputation reaches 0, knights and wizards will always appear with 100% certainly and come charging at you! My advice when this happens it to run to the nearest temple and starting donating a lot of money! Another solution is to get ShadowKeeper and change your reputation using it.

Reputation changes made in Shadowkeeper do not apply to the game.

I.E. if you have a reputation of 8, and set it to 20 in SK, you won't get the benefits of having a 20 rep.

That's true. However, if you use the cheat codes while in the game, I believe you will get the benefits of having a 20 reputation.

SCKnight -- IIRC, it's enough to donate 100,000 gp once and your reputation skyrockets to 18 (or was it 12?).
Seems like I recalled incorrectly. It's enough to donate 5,000 gp and your reputation goes up to 17. I'm not sure if it simply jumps up, or if it's a prerequisite. If it's the latter, donate the amount on the left to get the level on the right (copied from BG2 manual):
    1500 | 1
    1200 | 2
    1000 | 3
    1000 | 4
    500 | 5
    400 | 6
    200 | 7
    300 | 8
    400 | 9
    500 | 10
    700 | 11
    900 | 12
    200 | 13
    500 | 14
    2000 | 15
    2500 | 16
    5000 | 17

IIRC its cumulative. So if you have 0 rep, add up all that money and donate to a temple to get to 17 rep.
You cant buy your way to greater than 17 rep.
