Cloak of the sewers

    Early on in the game I found a magical cloak in the sewers that allowed the wearer to polymorph in to different creatures. Turning in to a Troll has been useful on a couple of ocassions but the other options are Rat and Mustard Jelly. Has anyone found uses for these?

    [​IMG] Only recently did I find out that turning into a rat gives you extreme resistances to physical damage!
    Combine that with the 1st level clerical spell Armor of Faith and you can reach 100% resistance which makes you untouchable by weapons. There is also a weapon that bestows 20% resistance to most or all physical dammage IIRC.

    also, becoming a mustard jelly makes you immune to cloudkill/stinking cloud, would half to read up to check the other immunities, but I know there are several

    Melkhior, even with all the warnings I put on the registration page you didn't bother to read the Forum Rules? Tell me, should I terminate your account now as I promised I will at http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?action=agree ?

    Even a blind man couldn't miss the colour in which I put that warning, and yet you choose to totally ignore it. Or do you think I put the rules there just because I have nothing better to do?

    [​IMG] When a character is polymorphed e.g when using the cloak of sewers abilities are they susceptible to spell that only work for that creature? For instance if you are turned in to a rat can you be charmed as an animal or as human?

    Not trying to pick a fight with a mod...

    But given that he's very new to the site, don't you think simply telling him to edit his posts rather than double posting would be more productive than threatening a ban without explicitly telling him what particular rule he violated.

    It hardly seems that he was intentionally trying to postcount++. Although, I understand that ignorance is no excuse, the lack of intent should influence the severity of the mod's response.

    Just my two cents.

    Enough second guessing of the moderation in this thread you guys. How often must we point out this rule in particular? So often that Tal had to update the FAQ and make sure people read it. Even after that AND all the warnings peppered all over the boards about this STILL we see this going on.

    I also must say Tal's response was much milder than usual, so count your blessings...

    [​IMG] Talcyndl, the link I posted is not there for no reason. Open it and scroll to the bottom of it and tell me what do you see. I'm sick and tired of explaining this OVER and OVER again. That's why I wrote all there is to say about it in the bloody FAQ/Rules. And we still get dickheads who won't read them even if you threaten them with bodily harm.(Or, as is the case here, account termination).

    In my opinion, the only real good thing about the Cloak is that you get AC -1 and you can wear it with a ring of protection/magic equiment.
