    Sorcerer.
Its just one of those debates. I want to know,
Im playing a sorcerer at the moment, and
even though she doesnt have a large spell
repertoire as the Mage, it seems she can cast
    a lot more when playing.

What do you think about them? And what items (apart from Ring of Acuity and Wizardry, and Robe of Vecna would you give them), but of a stupid question but hey.

Sorcerers are very powerfull. They indeed have less spells, but who uses more than 6 different spells on a level anyway? :p

The only thing I find annoying is, when you only want the lvl1 spells chromatic orb and identify, you will still get the four other lvl1 spells displayed in your quickbutton for spells. With this for 9 levels of spells, your spelllist becomes very long. With the Mage you can arrange the spells for better overview.

Im currently thinking of doing a Mod changing the Sorcerer, so that he gets
special innate abilities as he goes up
    in level.

How about Create Dweomer? As the Sorcerer casts the spell, one spell is selected from say..50. at random 2% chance for each, maybe 1% for the more powerful, 3% for less.
This spell is then entered into the Sorcerers memory.
Although creating all those spells would take an awfully long time.
the sorcerer can only cast this once every level.

    Also interesting options would be:
    - a different version of Nahal's Reckless Dweomer.
    - Enchant Weapon (improve a weapon by +1)
    - Enchant Parchment (create random scrolls from level 1-5?)
    - Enchant Vial (create a random potion)
    etc etc.

But how to imbue these abilities within the Sorcerer?
The only way i can think of is to make him/her learn it when they put on an item.
    Eg. Ring of Enchantment Learning

But Sorcerers should learn their magical powers innately!

    help me!

    That's okay...
Change the mod, add some innate abilities etc. Then send it to SP for downloading.
I, myself, won't download it. The Sorcerers are powerfull enough, IMO.

Besides the Items already mentioned at the top, I like the Amulet of Power, and maybe the boots of Speed for avoiding close combat.

    What's ok for what?
Gee MoN, youre a confusing one.

I havent made the mod yet! See http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum2/HTML/005084.html for why. I cant seem to be able to edit the Sorcerer Class (like Kits' special abilities).

I realised this will over-power the Sorcerer slightly, but i'll think of some Disadvantages.

    Help me more!

Go and get yourself a Staff of the Magi. Then don't leave home without it.

I must confess I always found the bracers ac 3 quite usefull.

Staff of the Magi is a must of course.

Really the Sorcerer doesn't need anything further in terms of powers, the casting ability as it stands is awesome.

For solo'ing Ring of Gaxx, although in a party that should go to a frontliner. Same for strenght girdles.

I am a confusing one. That's for sure. But you, Gopher, are easily confused. ;)

You were asking: Should I edit the Sorcerer?
    I answered: That's okay.

Maybe you should do something about your savingthrows, wield Lilarcor or cast Spell Immunity: Enchantment. ;)
But probably it's just me being cursed and confusing my SP-party members. :D

    Back to the topic:
A sorcerer, or any other party member, should have an item that suports his tactics. Xmpl:
I got three party members immune to poison. Then what do you cast? Fireball? Nope! You cast Stinking Cloud and Cloudkill to watch your foes fall down and have their never-ending nap.
Call it weak if you want....I rather call it smart.

    [IMG] :eek::hmm::(:shame::confused:
    Well...thank you for the..comment.
Maybe he should innately be able to raise
his INT value, so that he may be able to
understand why he's being edited by
    this word-twisting confusing thing?!

Sorcerors also cast spells a little faster than regular mages, right?

I dont think so, i've heard it said but through my testing it hasnt come across that way.
Sorcerers cast spells just the same speed and way as Mage's, but having a set number of castings. No speed in there.

I wish it was faster though.
