There are many threads devoted to this. Search around, you'll find them. The way I did it was cheap. I bought a few Monster Summoning wands, sat back and kept using it until I wore him down. Then I finished him off. I know, it's a no brainer, but it worked. I have to go back and fight him again so that I feel better about it.

I hope you bought some potions etc in Baldur's Gate... Use spells that lower AC< increase strength etc... with many wands and potions and a girlde of slashing (golden girdle) on your main character you might be able to kill him a regular way. Else, you can summon many monsters and use them as frint fighters while you kick him with ranged attack

You should have seen the bodies. It was impressive. I couldn't tell you how many. I think I used the spell twice, 2 scolls, and used up 2 or 3 wands. I just kind of stood around and watched for a while.

True, that's another tactic.. wih Fire Resistance above 100, you will heal by fire.... you can heal yourself then with A's Scorcher :)

First time I killed him I was playing an elven fighter. We were all using missle weapons, and he came after us alone. It was a joke, he went down in only a few seconds with all the good arrows we were using.

Whatever happens, Sarevok is no joke. The fight against him (without Drizzt's items :)) is never easy.

I just finished playing again and found Sarevok easier than the other times I played through (though still not easy). I think it had to do with higher levels this time (I had ToTSC installed) and my experience with BG2 (where I learned the power of the Magic Missle).
My party took hit him with missle weapons and multiple Magic Missles. I was surprised when he fell.

Last time I killed him, Sarevok WAS a joke, and I have never used Drizzt's items. Admittedly, I don't have TotSC installed so he is easier, but then again I don't get any of the bonus items or levels you can get in the expansion.

Alright, my party consisted of Minsc, Kivan, Kagain, Viconia, Imoen, and myself (human mage). We were using the best missile weapons in the game (ie. Light Crossbow of Speed, Composite Long bow +1, Long bow of marksmanship, Eaglebow, and sling +1) and +2 arrows/bolts. I casted a haste spell on my party, and we killed Sarevok so fast he only had time to take one swing at Minsc (I didn't summon any meat shields either).

The moral of the story is, Sarevok is a pussycat as long as you don't engage him in melee. Cowardly, maybe. Effective, hell yes.

[IMG] Oh you know what works great. Backstab with that Assassins dagger. Sarevok twitch every time he tried to walk near me and all to do was get out my missile weapons. If you want to kill the other guys just do it in this order.
(note the key is to kill as many people as possible without intiating the dialog with Sarevok

First lure out Tazok then kill, go back outside rest and recharge.
Equip yourself with stinking cloud, and if you don't have it already, go get a cloudkill wand. If you have two or more mages with flame and acid arrow thats great too. Unless all of your party is really strong you should use your cleric to cast a Strenght of one spell. Fireball is wonderfull! If you have wands you can actually beat Sarevok with a part of 3 or more mages!

    Second,
From the side try to launch a stinking cloud attack(killing the helmed horrors might make it easier) but first dispel their invisibility.
Multiple cloud attacks! Fireball Fireball! Stinkcloud! Cloudkill. These guys are a higher level than you, so they will make a majority of their saves, which is why wands are useful.

Even Angelo will take damage from fireball.
Do as much damage as you can. Then you can start to use missile weapons, but you really want to save your best for Sarevok, so leave a stash of your poison arrow and piercing arrows ready.

I said Sarevok ALONE was a joke vs all of my party members. When I beat him with TotSC this didn't happen and the fight was indeed challenging. It's really his cronies that make the battle as difficult as it is.

try using summon skelotons and put them between you and serevok, use the bought time to throw more spells at him, stinking cloud is good too.

I say arrows work better then spells for Sarevok has magic resistance but is easy to hit with Bows and Crossbows when you use arrows of piercing, arrows +2 etc.

I've never fought serevok but i heard if you summon monsters and keep them between you and serevok you it buys you time to attack him from a distance...so i heard.

The first time I fought Sarevok...I killed him, but when it greys out all the buttons and doesn't let you control anything while Sarevok dies, what'shisface killed my character, so it didn't count as beating the game...so I tried again and made sure to keep someone between my character and everyone else
