Isn't this game wonderfully addictive? I think so. One of my favourite games right now. I got it in a pack of 5 games for $30 CDN. The others were Clive Barker's Undying, American McGee's Alice, and two Dracula games which sucked. But the three that I mentioned first are awesome! Played and wrapped them all. :)

    Any comments on this game?

It's good, but hates running on XP. It crashes such a lot. In the end I got to the last level, but for some reason never completed it. Quite fun for multiplayer, when it doesn't crash.

I stil can hear the voice, a trap has been made in your workshop. It to easy, but the style was magnificant. The creatures like the misstress and the galdemon are just plain classics. the screaming that the ladie do in the tortue chamber.

I have to agree that it hates to run on some computers. I was able to install and to launch it from the install menu. I never got the game to just run from with the normal exe file, or the autorun. I had or reïnstall it every time, but thankfully it kept the savegames.

The problem was not XP but the videocard drivers. so update those might work for you to.

Yes, , hates XP. Always crashes at a time where I should be getting off anyway. Around the 2 hour mark. :D

[IMG] I have played the original a lot (and completed it) and the sequel a bit (never completed it though), I have an old PC running Win 95 which I use for retro gaming as well as a slightly newer one running XP :) .

Awesome game, my favourite character is definitely the Bile demon; I liked the way that if you slap it, it gave you the V's  .

My favorite character was the Mistress. Besides their delightful screams of torture, these women were unstoppable if a higher level.

^ And even better, when you took control of them, you could easily kill anything you want (since enemies hit so ridicilously slowly).

Of course, turn those fairies at your side and you can have an fairy-army of your own. :D

I've played this game over and over and over and over....and i never got enough of it, the campaign and the pet dungeons were both very entertaining and adictive. By simply talking about it i feel like reinstalling it again, some games have that effect on me. :D

I loved taking control of one of my creatures and just wander around my dungeon to see what everyone was up to. Or pick up one of the mistresses and listen to her moaning with the volume wide open. :shake:

The casino was also good for a chuckle when someone hit the jackpot, ancient disco tunes would sound throughout your dungeon and all creatures would boogey down. :D

Never had a problem running this one on XP. The original on the other hand I've never been able to run it since losing my 98 machine. So judging by Merlanni's comment, I definitely had appropriate drivers for it.

Playing through the original for the first time was superb fun (and not too much less for repeated attempts).

Yes, the display drivers to be precise. I cannot remember which card it was.

"The Lord of the Land approaches!" ;)

I've just recently started playing this again. Couldn't decide whether to play DK or DK2, so went for DK2. I've never had a problem running it or DK in XP.

My only quibble about DK2 is there are a few too many rooms to be able to build them all comfortably, IMO.

Determined to complete it this time. Last time I played I gave up about half way through because there was a really tough level I just couldn't beat.

Oh, and Alice is a cool game too. Love the atmosphere about it.

Let me guess...the level you couldn't beat was the one where you had to withstand the attack of the vampirehorde ?
