Anybody ever play Darksun?

    That game had better Character build up then BG2 in some ways. The Game is old as well, surprisingly addicting, i enjoyed it more then this game.

    It was more Mysterious and Adventrous. Sometimes their was a enemy you couldn't even defeat but weaken.

    There's no one in the forgotten realms that's THAT strong. If it was realistic, Irenicus should be very powerful. and your heroes would never of had a chance to destroy him. I dont' feel part of a big thing. People should know about Irenicus, all Kingdoms should be warned after what he did. An Epic war instead of just "YOU" would be more appealing to me then a party running aorund with the end of the world on their hands and everyone else, well They are living everyday life.

    [​IMG] Gotta say that I love both Dark Sun games. Probably my favorite D & D games till Baldur's Gate came out. While BG looked and played a lot better, Dark Sun definately had them beat in plot and settings. I'll have to finish BG2 to make up my mind, but perhaps it will have it beat as well in the above two categories. The plot was more epic; however, BG2 seems more personal and introspective in the plot. It goes beyond just a do-gooder party saving the world. Both games have good development, it's just BG2 has more development to do with the main character than the world around him. Both ways worked well in these two series and both are true classics.

    [​IMG] Some nice stuff in them, psionics, desert, able to play as ogre but I got fed up with all their bugs that would lock me in an area with no way out. I later found out that the programmers hadn't allowed for people walking around with their inventory slots full! (ran out of variables)

    It's a tough world, that's for sure but is also has some perks with it. I played in it once long ago, a break from the Forgotten Realms setting, but our party died. The DM was pretty tough and everyone dehydrated while travelling.

    Never played it again.

    Never played Darksun. Played the Eye Of The Beholder Trilogy and loved it.
