Hello there, i'm restarting the bg series, playing Easytutu with some mods and it's real great. EXCEPT that i found some glitches disturbing my experience:

Every time i encounter a bear it's actually three bears in a triangle form, their backs right to each other. Weird. AND most of the random Creature Spawns are SIX, always. 6 gibberlings, 6 skeletons, 6 hobgoblins, etc. Don't sure i remember that from vanilla bg... On top of this, there are uber spawns like vampiric wolves immune to normal weapons early in the game when you didn't even saw a magic weapon (thankfully these are only 2, but with 6 it would only be faster).

Any idea, what could be causing this? I thought maybe sword coast stratagems, but i thought their changes would be AI only?

This is my mod and install order list

With vanilla Tutu, you are out of luck - it uses the BG2 spawn system and you get used to running away from everything as fast as you can...

Thankfully, EasyTutu has an add-on (look for "EasyTutu Spawn Randomizer" on Macready's page). In it, you can't change what spawns or how many of them spawn, but you can change the spawn behavior in terms of frequency ( 10%, 20%, 30%, etc. chance every few hours, days, weeks, etc. of game time, or even "never respawn" ).

That means that while you get tougher spawns in Tutu/EasyTutu than in straight BG, you don't have to have undless streams of gibberling hordes rushing your poor L1 mage endlessly :)

So, the tutu conversion has changed the encounters? For balance? Cause of the conversion process? Hmm...
Ok, thought it would be some mod messing with that.

Thanks for the tip, i'll sure look it up.

To tell you the truth, the coding reasons are beyond me - I know that Macready worked his tail off rebuilding the whole spawns system, and that Tutu v5/6(abandoned - NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL) attempted to deal with the spawns, but I get the impression that there is a mismatch between the BG engine and the BG2 engine approaches to spawns that make dealing with this very, very difficult.

For fun, we could argue that since the player gets kits, the BG2 spawn system "balances" it...

but the last time my poor L1 paladin and his best friend Imoen were bushwhacked by a horde of continually respawning dire wolves, it was of little comfort to me :D I installed Macready's spawn modification, set the chance of respawn to a longer interval/less chance, and tried to forget seeing Imoen chunked...
