Well I just started a solo Bard and I can use any help out there. I have TOSC installed.

    1. Can a Bard use a wand of monster summoning?
    2. Has anyone ever read this?
    3. Can a Bard ever use armor and cast spells at the same time?

As you can see Bards are not my forte but I try.

    My stats are:
    18 STR
    17 DEX
    17 CON
    18 INT
    03 WIS
    15 CHA

This is not the best roll but it will do.

I will keep this updated as I progress the game and Tal if you need screen shots I will make a couple from BG 1.

There might be some Spelling mistakes here sorry if I missed them.

    Well to answer your questions,

    1. Yes a Bard can use the Wand of Monster Summoning.
    2. not sure what you mean, but I am reading it now.
    3. No a Bard cannot cast spells while wearing armor, but he/she can cast from scrolls and use wands while wearing armor.

I'd change up the stats a bit to something like this:

    17 STR
    18 DEX
    15 CON
    18 INT
    06 WIS
    15 CHR

but they look fine so don't create a new character on my account.

Please do keep us posted, I thought about goin' solo with a Bard, so I'd like to hear how your adventures turn out. I'm soloing BG now with Stormcrow, a F/M/T and I'm having a blast.....oh and Taluntain, I have about 40 to 50 screens to look at from this trip through BG, so I'm sure I'll find a few to send in.

Corection on the previous post the second question was:

    Has anyone else tried this?

For those new stats: The only reason to give a Bard Wisdom is for lore in BG1 but Constitution is more important to start with and there are 2 tomes (As far as I known) that increase Wisdom in the game. I do still get 10 lore/level so it isn't that bad. Also I get 5% pickpockets/level I have 70% now and I am only lvl 4.

    My Stats so far:

    Lexington Level 4 Bard
Besides a +1 Dagger there is nothing worth mentioning in his inventory. Funny thing is I got Melf's Acid Arrow of a Gibberling.

That's what I figured you meant.

Anyway, the reason I would choose 15 for Constitution is because Bards can only get up to +2 Hitpoints from a Constitution bonus. So the max I would give a Bard would be 16, but since you can get the Tome relatively early on in the game, I'd stick with 15. This way you could put some points towards Dex. or even Chr.

Ah well, to each his/her own....

Well lately it's been going well. I finished the Mines relatively easy. The bandit camp was Dido. The only thing that made me spend some time in the Camp is because I got Knock making it easyer to get the locked chests. I'm in the Cloakwoods(SP?) now I managed to get to the mine easily by sneaking. Daveron might be a problem due to the traps and no way to disarm traps.

Friends spell works wonders to get CHA up without any bonus I have 21 to CHA and you only need to memorize it when you need it.

    Lexington level 6 Bard

Notable items: Hammer +2 +1 Electric Dagger of Venom Crossbow of Speed Chain Mail +1 Dread Shot (Also Known As Long bow of Marksmanship) Cloak of +2 CHA (Don't actually know the name) 2 Wands of Frost

Can cast 3 1st level spells and 2 2nd Level has a lore value of 50 and 80% pickpockets.

Where do you find Coran in the woods I don't want him in my party but I want to know where he is.

Long reply sorry if I missed some spelling in here.

Coran can be found on the first map of Cloakwood. He is waiting on a bridge in the northern area of the map.

Eldoth can be found in the southern part of the most western Cloakwood-area.

Lexinton, the idea is good and with help of the tomes very promissing. A Bard is allround but doesn't have one excellent point... Still you should be able to complete most of the game without too much problems.

    1 question and 1 comment:

Question: Will you play with or without XP-cap.

Comment: Please start a topic for your solo-adventure in Creativity Surge, summaries etc of games like this belong there....

Good luck! May helm enlighten your paths in these dark days.

    This has Spoilers*******

I got past Davaeron he was easy I just had to let him
waste his spells then I killed him with The Dagger of Venom really easy done
but I didn't stay in the woods to long I mostly sneaked and anyone who put up a fight I just charmed with the cloak which I now identified to be Agernon's cloak.

Head banger no I will leave the cap as it is.
I don't agree to the removers even if I am solo.

Thanks for the enlightenment from Helm. :holy:

The Baldur's Gate part I didn't stay in much I just killed the party got the information incriminating the Iron Throne leaders the Seven Sun's quest because of the reward
    then went back to Candlekeep.

Tal can you please move this topic to Creativity surge.

[Er, no. What for? It hardly has any elements that would require it to be moved there.] -Tal

I've soloed a bard as well. You shouldn't go past 15 on CON because there is a Tome that will increase your CON to 16 which will give you max hp's. Any more than 16 CON is a waste. Also, there is some armour in the game that you can use. Unfortunately, the armour is Elven chain, which is the best for a bard, but you have to kill Drizzt for it. It might be a bit daunting trying to kill him on your own though. I would suggest summoning monsters as fodder and trying to pluck at with him with the best arrows you can find.
