I always find the placing of proficiency points to be the hardest decisions to make :p I am using a female Inquisitor PC with an evil party (Korgan, Viconia, Jan and Edwin). Her name is Polly Typical and she is the kind of gal who always picks the wrong type of guy to her eventual downfall. Of course she has 2** in two handed swords/2 handed weapon style for caromsyr and she also has 2** in longbows. Where to put the other prof points I get as I level? She has no blunt weapon profs for golums so maces (of disruption) and flails (of ages) look good but Viccy has maces and will eventually have flails. Since she already has 2** in two handed weapons Qstaffs look good but then again but both Jan and Edwin have QStaff profs. Halberds also look good cuz I never used 'em and there is a good one for dragons you get early on but they also look kinda slow...also I have no one to wield shortbows. I think she will get 3 more prof stars by the time she reaches the exp cap. Opinions please..

I'd go Staves, personally. There are quite a few good ones knocking about, and it'd round off the set when it comes to the types of damage you're doing.

I second the staves proficiency. That Staff of Rhynn is perfect for an Inquisitor. Short Bow isn't a bad choice either, but you'd probably rather have Jan use one.

BTW, how does a Paladin fall in with the wrong crown when she has the innate "Detect Evil" ability? ;)

    Thanks for the opinions.

To answer Klorox...uhh...she's a stereotypical blonde, she is  and thinks it's distract evil? Maybe I should put the points in darts for this reason. She could use them as decorative hatpins. :D

I would go with halberds and leave the staves for the mage types. Though when you get Carsomyr, why do you want to use anything else? :)

Does the warhammer +1, +4 vs. giants in Nalia's Keep count golems as "giants"? Would be nice for fighting clay golems. Also, since she is good Axe's might be nice for a while. Especially Azuredge before you get that holy avenger. Undead saves vs. death every hit :)

IIRC, it's +4 vs. giant humanoids - ogres, fire giants, ettins, etc. Golems aren't humanoids but constructs.

@Klorox - Detect Evil is known to cause death.

A weapon I thought of was spear. There are a few nice ones early on: Unicorn spear +2 (immune to confusion), spear +3 and Backbiter +3 (this one's cursed).

I already have Korgan for axes/hammers so I guess it's Staves...the +4 Rhynn will do nicely for the odd golem and I'll just use carsomyr for the dragons (except for one of them of course).

kuemper: Nice link...too bad she ain't blonde :rolling:
