What 'stronghold' quests would you like to see?

By Stronghold, I mean class-specific quests.

For a Barbarian, I would have liked to see maybe some tribal conflict between barbarian tribes. You, being the 'Chosen One' (child of bhaal) must end the conflict.. either by wiping out one or the other tribe, or by finding another way. Yes, Sahaugin-ish, but hey.

For a Fighter, I would have liked to see the character become a mercenary-- a sellsword, as it were. Various jobs around Athkatla.. etc.

For a Thief.. actual street wars between guilds would be cool.

For a Cleric, you should definitely have to convert a town to your faith.. whether that's by killing a dragon or raising enough money to get a town hall, do it..

Add your ideas. Again stronghold quests are class-specific quests.. like when you run the Playhouse as a Bard or protect the forest as a Ranger..

Well, it would have been nice if there were a stronghold for every kit. Like maybe you'd work as an Assassin for a noble, and would be given a hit list and have to track down the target within a certain amount of time. Wizard Slayer would be similar, you'd work for a special sect devoted to killing mages, and Avenger, stopping those who would defile nature. A Stalker could have intelligence gathering missions in Athkalta and the wilderness.

Yeah, in my opinion the most fun stronghold to play is the thieves stronghold. You actually have underlings that you command to do what you want. Way cool stuff! Plus there is no life better than a thieves guild.

I hated the Theif stronghold! It's fun ordering around the thieves, but there isn't enough humor in it like with the mage's apprentices. Also you have to run down there every five minutes to pay Renal or you lose it!

I agree about the thieves guild. The idea of managing underlings is good, and what I expected from a stronghold, but I think some more specific events wouldn't go amiss - eg one of the underlings says the've found a really lucrative job, but it's very dangerous and you could have the option of either accompanying them, or doing it yourself as well as just deciding whether or not they should do it.

I think all of the stronghold quests are cool if a little stunted. They could have done alot more with them. Atleast with the DeĀ“Arnise keep and Sphere. It would be cool if you would have been able to use your golem in the sphere to battle some other adventurers. And an assault on the Keep would also be fun to play.

For Paladin, I'd like to be able to have to do more large scale battle work. For example, you could have to direct tactics to a mixed army. ie ... where do the archers, footment, etc go. The battle outcome would be determined by the tactics, plus bonuses due to the charisma (moral bonus) of the leader.

I realize that quests like the *might* be difficult to implement ... but I think it would be awesome!

I'd love to see the assassin-quest (says a person who has Ian Nottingham-syndrome...)

  9. Hmm . . . the monk stronghold: You must go there every 3 days and meditate for 2 hrs. :D :D :D

I think it'd be cool for a mage's stronghold quest to find certain ingredients that could be used for making magic items. (i.e. retrieve a piece of an iron golem to make a war hammer or something.) If you were a sorceror, you could have a feud between the 'natural' wizards and the 'learned' ones.

How about something along the lines of "The Name of the Rose" for the monk stronghold. For instance - you get invited to a monastery and you have to solve these mysterious and gruesome murders, while at the same time keeping peace between the various groups.

I would like to see a Vampire Kit, that would be something to see. Level Drain would be an awesome ability although it probably would be too powerful. The Stronghold Quest... hmm.

    The possibilitlies...

Perhaps the stronghold quests (or at least some of them) could be solos. For some reason or another (stealth for thieves, personal honour for paladins etc.) the character has to leave his party behind, like the thieves' guild quests in BG1, where ONE thief from the party has to try them. This might make the quests more personal. As the quests are only accessible to one class, they can be designed to be doable for one member of that class (obvious example, non-thief quests never involve unavoidable traps - but you might have traps that you have to solve a riddle or clue to find a way around). The problems with this are
    1) the motivation for some classes to go solo might seem hopelessly contrived
    2) Party management and interaction is an important part of the Baldur's Gate series
