[IMG] In order to get the 'proof' that Malver is a dodgey geezer I have to open his chest . . . I can't find the bloody key !

Just keep playing along and doing what you're told, and you'll get the key eventually.

[IMG] You can open the chest if you´re a good, competent thief but nothing will be in there except some stupid gems IIRC.
Blackthorne´s right otherwise, wait and see ;)

[IMG] Do what Mae'Var says and then do what Edwin says and you'll eventually get the key to open the box.

You have to rob the Weathermistress in the temple of Talos.

I thought that it was rather ironic. They stole something from the temple of Lathander and you steal something from them. So if you're a good character feel safe in the knowledge that you're stealing from an evil chruch and if you're an evil character what are you doing with a conscience????

The quest is not too difficult. There are two ways: a) pickpocket the talos prist in daylight (I think more difficult) and b) empty his locker at night (easier). I think it´s a question of honour to loot the whole temple :D

    [IMG] Errata:

I claimed that it is possible to open Maer`Var´s chest before you get the key if your thief´s only good emough. Playing it again I found I was wrong. Sorry.
