    Hi all :)

I would like to know if Cromwell propose to forge Mace of Disruption if party can obtain illithium coz in my actual game, he doesn't.
He only proposes to forge mace of disruption if I have mace of disruption AND illithium in my inventory and say nothing if I have ONLY mace of disruption +1 in my inventory.

I play on a french version.

Maybe it 's fixed by the English-Language Game Text Update v1.3 ??

    ty

ps: I also will test what happen if I have only Illithium in my inventory.

The Mace of Disruption +2 is assembled in Throne of Bhaal, not Shadows of Amn.

No, the IMoD is forged by Cromwell in SoA.

@ OP: You need to have the real Illithium in your inventory, otherwise Cromwell doesn't offer to forge the IMoD- the language version doesn't matter. That's how it works in the English, German and (apparently) French version and that's why it took me years to find out that such a thing even existed:p

    Thank you.

Do you think it is intentional or maybe designers wanted to make this weapon really "secret" ? (coz no one keep illithium in inventory often enough to discover that Crowmell can do something with it)

Good question. A weapon that can kill Liches and Bodhi in 1 hit is a bit out of the ordinary so maybe it was meant to be some kind of easter egg. AFAIK neither Baldurdash nor Fixpack ever tried to change this - and I suppose they could if they wanted to- so they seem to consider it intentional.

It's very intentional and is hardly the only rare find in the game.

You can do that very same thing with Azuredge, which is available right from the start from Bernard in the Copper Coronet.

The MoD (+1 version) can destroy any undead in a single hit. The improved MoD simply protects you from the undead (level drain) as well. The upgrade is primarily defensive, not offensive.

I thought the in-game description of illithium gave a hint it would be useful.

It seems the in-game description of illithium give a "clue " about second propriety of illithium. Can you say me what is the english description of illithium please :)

I don't recall any clue or hints. Here's what I pulled from Infinity Explorer & Shadowkeeper:

    Pulled from misc5K:
This is 200 stones of pure illithium ore. Illithium is renowned for both its luster and its unique property of never becoming soiled.

    Misc6S
This chunk of alloy was created for you by Jerlia the Ore Merchant. You hope that it will do in the stead of real ore which is nearly impossible to obtain. Jerlia assures you that Sir Sarles will not tell the difference. As to the alloy itself, it has an... interesting shape that looks vaguely like something though you can't put your finger on what that something might be.

    BLUN12
    Mace of Disruption +1
This heavy mace was created for a very specific purpose: to slay undead. Any such creature hit by it not only feels the sting of weapon, but also has a chance of being simply blasted from existence. There are legends that speak of a priest so holy a single glancing touch could send a vampire to oblivion, but whether the weapon empowered her or she empowered it is a topic for theologians.

Now that the mace has been coated with illithium, it is even more potent, conferring to its user immunity to the life-draining powers of the more powerful undead.

Maybe I just wanted there to be an in-game clue so I could justify my sneaking a peek at a guide.... :)

I don't think you can really use the alloy for anything weapon improvement related. It simply gives you an option that lets you keep the pure stuff for a Mace +2.

I think both pieces of metal weigh 200 pounds-so have your strongman/woman haul them around.
