I am playing the OC again to take a character through all the campaigns, OC ---> SoZ. I've just leveled to 9 as a human LG Favored Soul.
    Stats: STR 18
    DEX 16
    CON 16
    INT 14
    WIS 16
    CHA 20
    (with equipment enhancements)
I was thinking of taking a few levels of Paladin and 9-10 levels of WarPriest.
A little background on where I'm coming from with this build. I am a combat vet (Navy) and my Dad was an airborne combat infantry medic who served with valor in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam (retired after 32yrs Sergeant Major). I tend to stay away from straight fighter builds. But I came up with this build to try to get as close as I could to a character resembling my Dad's background.
I am looking for ideas, suggestions on how (when) to level this build or, other options.

    Thanks,
    Bodhi

if your lawfull good, go for around 4 paladin levels, make sure the 4th level land on a level where you get a feat, so you can take divine might. get your str to at least 21, so you can get epic divine might. to bad you just hit level 9. if you have an save right before, stay at favored soul 8. then take 4 paladin, so the 4th paladin level comes at level 12.

take warpriest after that if you want to, it certainly wont hurt.

at a side note, you do know SoZ is intended for a new character, not a character that have been trough OC and MotB, right?

oh and can you post your base stats? it makes it easier to advice, as I can't figure out what feats you can actually get

I do have level 8 save, I tend to rotate 4-5.

Yes I do, but I can import my character from a saved export. Right?

    base:
    str 14
    dex 12
    con 14
    int 10
    wis 12
    cha 18

    Thanks,
    Bodhi

okay epic divine might is out of the question (as you need a base 21 str and base 21cha), you could and probably should still take normal divine might. the four paladin levels will also add your cha modifier to saving throws which is brilliant.
then go full warpriest ( you might as well) and play it like a buffer/healer.

what god did you choose ? alternative, since your human, you can do the bid cheese thing, add 2 level paladin for cha modifier to saving throws, ad 1 level warpriest, then on character level 12 and character level 15 add a cleric level and take divine might and divine shield (and two domains which will grant you extra feats)

and yes you can import the character to SoZ, but if you take a level 30, it might ruin the fun for you. but it is possible if that's your thing

I think I'm going to rebuild. So I need 18/19 or 19/18 strength/charisma to start, getting 5 att pts at levels 4-20?

    I chose Tyr

When a character is created for SoZ , it starts at around lvl 11 I think? So would I even want to be at epic level? It doesn't look like the game is long enough to give very many levels. I thought this was supposed to be an epic lvl campaign?

    Oh yeah, bid cheese?

Thanks again for all your help,
    Bodhi

to get epic divine might early, you need to start your character with at least 16 in str (or cha) and 18 in cha (or str). that way you can pump the 5 stat increases you get from 1-20 into the 16 point ability and use 2-3 feats in epic levels to get the last 3 points in the 18 point ability.

the easiest race to do this with is Aasimar, as it has +2 Cha and paladin as favored class, meaning an Aasimar paladin 4/ favored soul X wont suffer any EXP-penalty. the powergamer in my would surgest Helm as good, as he gives you bastard sword and thereby both martial and exotic weapon feats. not that it is a big difference from longsword mind you.

In SoZ this rightly doesn't matter, only parties consisting of 3 or less characters will normally hit level 20 and beyond. A 4 character party with 1-2 Cohorts will end the game around level 16-18 depending on how many side quests they do, ECL races will of course end lower (my all drow party ended at level 15).

SoZ starts you off at level 4 and takes you to near 20 as described above.

on a completly sidenote, if you enjoy your game as it is, there is no reason to restart, your stats are fine for normal Divine might and your character should have no problems with neither OC or MotB

Kelemvor has a relatively new order of paladins that follow him. They may be small enough in number that the game designers decided not to have them as an option and allow his more numerous but also neat/strong doomguides instead.

His order specializes in fighting the undead and their description seems to have some similarities to the "Undead Hunter" paladin kit.

Do you get a bonus vs undead when you have a paladin of Kelemvor?

For that matter which of the gods in forgotten realms can you pick from when you have a paladin and what (if any) bonuses do you get for following them?

you get absolutely no bonuses. the choice of god's in NWN2 is mostly cosmetic, it only really matters for clerics with war domain and favored souls, since they gain some feats dependent on their gods favored weapon.

you do get some special dialog options in Motb if you have kelemvor as god.

well some lines with Kaelyn the Dove and the Priest of Kelemvor in Mulsantir. Supposedly there should also be some other dialogs with Kelemvor himself, but I never played my priest of kelemvor that far, so I can't confirm it.

Thank you nonetheless. Maybe I'll look in youtube or for a guide that may mention them.
