I'm in Chapter Five at Kuldahar and I did not receive any xp for kill any of the Yuan-Ti located there. I know there is a reduction based on the level of the party and the challenge rating of the monster, but shouldn't I get something. My party is only level 13 and I have not done anything to artificially boost its level.

Thanks in advance for any information.

I think that is perfectly normal, you won't get any xp killing run-of-the-mill Yuan-ti with level 13 party in Chapter 5 (assuming you're playing at normal difficulty). This becomes even more annoying later on if you choose to hack your way through dozens of Yuan-ti. There's a mod for IWD2 that gives some xp on every kill, but I'm not sure if it can be applied mid-game.

Yes, it can be applied mid-game. It only affects the kills you get AFTER installing it, though, not retroactively.

You'd have to be as low as level 11 to be seeing *any* exp rewards for the Challenge Rating 4 Yuan-Tis there. Yes, it's stupid that you meet such lowly monsters in Chapter Five.

[IMG] you can tailor-make your own XP table by altering MONCRATE.2DA in the Override folder. A bit of intuitive reading, and you'll understand what the figures in the table mean. Personally i didn't like the 'always get some XP per kill' altered table, because it gives a minimum of 100XP for any kill, which is way too much. Try the table i made in IWD2_4dummies if you can't be bothered typing in all the values.;)

Thanks all for the information. I still am a little confused by this whole challenge rating business. After I thought about it some more, I remember receiving xp for killing the wights in Kuldahar Pass. I checked their CR and it is only 3. It was not much, but I definitely got something. I will have top play some more and see if I can find a pattern.
