Well the titel says pretty much everything.
When i enter the slums(they laod normally) i have about 3 secounds before the game crashes to desktop.

    Newest Patches are applied.
I already tried reinstalling, cleaning game cache and teleporting.
    Didn't work.

    Any further suggestions?

Which OS are you using? Do you have any mods installed?

    Windows XP(Service Pack 2).
No mods, except I added the 2 Bonus merchants from collectors edition.
(One of them is located in the slums, but that shouldn't make the game crash, or am i worng?)

The merchant is in the Copper Coronet, so if that was the cause I'd expect the crash to happen when you enter the CC, not in the Slums itself. Besides many, many of us have been using it for years without any problem.

I don't know what to suggest... I've run the game on SP2 with the 2 merchants and never had a persistent CTD. Did you install SoA without ToB? And did you make sure to install the SoA patch only?

Sorry, can't think of anything else :bad:

Do you have anti-virus software installed?

If you do, try to disable Auto Protect while you play.

I downloaded the game via torrent now, installed it and put the savegame files in it.
    Nothing changed.

    Tried it.
    Also no effect :/

Corrupt save games like those are a pain. The area file is probably not faulty because you've entered the area before. Perhaps it is a script that should be running but can't run and as a result crashes your game (it happened to me before). In that case re-installing the game won't solve the issue.

BG2 can be temperamental at best, if you have an earlier save you could go back from there (sorry, I know that doesn't really help).

Do you have any particular effect (spell or other effect) running on your characters?

Well, then it's going to take some time.

PS:T is long but worth it IMO.

But what you could try, is to delete the .BMP files in your savegame. They sometimes doesn't get saved properly.

Long in a good way. :)

First time I finished it, I had to play it again immediately after.

    Cause damn! It's GOOD. :D
