Sarevok: Duchal Palace

Discussion in 'Baldur's Gate (Classic)' started by i_wish_it_was, Jul 25, 2002.

  1. [IMG] After i kill the dopplegangers at Sarevok's ceremony and then allow Sarevok to talk to me and he summons the Flaming Fist Mecenaries and Angelo, my main character dies for no apparent reason. No one casts any spells or anything. Am i supposed to do something to get round this, or have i got some kind of glich or bug??
Any help much needed to save me from much frustration.
    Cheers.

    Can't remember that happening. It's probably a bug. It's always a bug :p.

If I remember rightly, you get killed after doing this if you don't have proof that Sarevok is behind the whole thing. There should be a journal or something (can't remember exactly where you get it) that show he is guilty, you ahould check your iventory for it.

You must protect the Duke (and maybe one other person; it's been a while). If he (or they) dies, then it's all over for you.

I believe Sarevok's Journal is in the Iron Throne Tower.

You just need to have an item with 'this looks important, better hold on to it' (part of the description) in any party member's inventory. One of them is Sarevok's journal (upstairs in the Iron Throne HQ), the other is a message you got off the two assassins in the whorehouse (the ones you killed for an invitation). You only need one of them.

During the fight, the doppelgangers will try to kill an armored character and a female mage among the Flaming Fist. If both of them die, it's game over. If you succeed, Sarevok should call on a red-robed mage, that teleports both of them away, with Sarevok saying 'run if you will, you cannot hide forever' (how original). Then someone should approach you and divine his location. If not, talk to the armored person and female mage you helped protect earlier. Then stock up with arrows and potions for the annoying end of the game.

Don't knock the end of the game, it is most definatly the best end to any game i've finished (its only rival is The Legend of Zelda: Ocariana Of Time)

    back on topic:
No bug, protect those two, if you don't know which to protect just summon so many critters that no-one can move anymore.
    I thought he's the one who's running?

No, he´s the one getting teleported away. You´re the one "running" after him.

Where is this place where you meet these people? Are they in the city of Baldur's Gate?

It's in the North section of the city.
It's part of the main quest.
    You'll get there eventually.

AHHHHH, the same thing was happening to me, as I stated in a previous post. I died automatically after conversing with Serevok. I don't know if I had his journal, that might have been the problem. Oh well, here I go again.
