I have a very heavily modded BG2 installation. Don't like it, it's too much at once and I have been having some crashing issues after loading the install up with so many mods. Can anyone recommend the best or safest way to uninstall everything so the next time I want to install the game, I will have no issues?

The safest way is to throw out your current computer and buy a complete new one.

    I won't claim it's the best way though... ;)

[IMG] Uninstall as usual and delete the directory afterwards, simple ;)

Next time you install, install the game, the official patch and any necessary unofficial patches you always use. Then copy the dialog.tlk and the override folder and put them in a safe place.

If you get want to start over then all you have to do is clear the cache folder and replace the override and dialog.tlk with the default backup you made.

Push the "start" button, click on "run...", then type "format c:".

Fire is also a good way to remove programs -- it's not the safest method in a house with children though.

I find just the usual uninstall, and then cleaning out the directory, especially the override and the folders left behind by the mods, does just fine.

It is important to wipe out any traces of mods before a reinstall, cause if they're in the directory, Weidu will latch onto them and still install them, at least in some of my past experiences.

Uninstall the game and reinstall again. Keep a clean copy somewhere on your computer and don't mod it. This way you can just delete a game that gets too corrupted and copy over a new install. Plus you can always have multiple installs of the game with different types of mods. People are under the illusion that modding the crap out of the game won't be a problem. Well it is because not all mods play nicely plus the game was never designed for all of this custom stuff to be added into it.
