Hello. Avid IWD2 player and I thought I'd fire up IWD1. Well, went into it Full Screen and it's that blurry at that resolution it was killing my eyes. Tried Windowed Mode and got this.

Jesus. Is there anyway to get it bigger in WINDOWED mode? I know there's various Widescreen mods, but do they work in windowed mode? Sorry for being awkward but I have to play in that setup, but the above is too damned small.

You could change the resolution of your display while you play...

The game has an original resolution of 640:480.
If you have the HoW expansion installed you can select 800:600 (the same as IWD2) or 1024:768 in the configuration.
HoW will also allow installing the G3 widescreen mod.

Setting the desktop resolution to 1280:720 or even lower for playing is definitely worth a try.

[IMG] Yes if you've got Heart of Winter, you can unlock graphics mode, to a higher resolution.
I also just installed IWD with HOW, on my new pc. Got about the same result, but my window is 1024 :)

The widescreen mod is just making everything to small :o

Ah, of course! My mistake. 800x600 will be perfect. I did install HoW hoping for some added features, such as what you guys mentioned, but I didn't look in the configuration. What, a, tit. My bad heh.

Thanks a lot everyone. Changing the desktop resolution was a good shout but keeping it standard, with 800x600, has the game looking very sharp.

    Woohoo!

Don't feel bad, I missed the increased resolution too, for some reason IWD looks REALLY bad on my laptops as well, and I didn't get HoW until a couple years ago while I've had the original game much longer. Out of curiosity, I'm going to dig the 14 year old laptop out of the closet and see if it looks good with a higher resolution on it.
