Was there a mod to skip Irenicus's intro in SoA?

    I know about the "Dungeon be gone" mod, but is there one that just lets you skip the opening cutscene where Irenicus goes
    "Ah, the child of Bhaal has awoken...
    It is time for more experiments."

    After seeing it a thousand times, it's no longer entertaining. I don't mind the dungeon so much, but the unskippable cutscene is getting on my nerves when I realize I made a mistake in character creation or are trying out a mod I made.

    Cutscenes are basically just scripts with a succession of commands. You can simply find the right one with NI, or preferably the script that triggers the cutscene, and delete the lines. Just make sure you don't delete any relevant stuff, like variable setters, creature spawns, etc.

    I was hoping somebody else had gotten tired of that introduction and had already done the work. "Why reinvent the wheel?".

    I guess everyone else just uses the Dungeon-be-Gone mod.

    Using Near Infinity you can edit Newgame.bcs, good idea to make a backup copy first.

    Because it generally takes less time than trying to find the right wheel supplier. :p

    Using Near Infinity, I altered the first statement of the script Newgame.bcs to remove all of the Irenicus stuff. This has been tested and shown to work:
    IF
    True()
    THEN
    RESPONSE #100
    ActionOverride("Imoen",OpenDoor("DOOR11"))
    ActionOverride("Imoen",MoveToPoint([3405.2924]))
    ActionOverride("Imoen",Face(0))
    ActionOverride("Imoen",SmallWait(5))
    ActionOverride("Imoen",MultiPlayerSync())
    ActionOverride("Imoen",MoveToObject(Player1))
    ActionOverride("Imoen",Unlock("Cell03"))
    ActionOverride("Imoen",OpenDoor("Cell03"))
    ActionOverride("Imoen",MultiPlayerSync())
    ActionOverride("Imoen",UnhideGUI())
    ActionOverride("Imoen",Dialogue(Player1))
    END

    Besides manually editing the script files, there is also a component of G3 BG2 Tweaks that shortens the cutscenes. Of course it still leaves some content so that the cutscenes make sense but they are less tiring.
