This one I'm looking for AC weapons since (s)he can't wear bracers or armor.

There's Drizzt's sword that gives +2 AC (which you cannot keep), Dak'kon's zerth blade from the bonus merchant gives +1 AC, and the scimitar Yamato which you can only buy in ToB (saradush) gives +1 AC as well - other then that there's not any that come to mind.
Not that you'd want to use those, there's way better weapons available for a kensai/mage.
With the exception of dakkon's zerth blade - that one is avtually a pretty good one if you are rolling a kensai mage, espescially if you dual wield it with celestial fury.

Ideally, raise your AC in other ways. There's a few items that can help, like a cloak of protection +1/2, the ring of gaxx gives a +2 AC bonus(though you'll need to kill kangaxx for it), the ring of earth control gives +1 AC a well(loot from the d'arnise keep), for the helmet slot, there's the pale green ioun stone for another +1 AC (get it off the spider lady in the catacombs)
There's also the shield amulet if you're not playing a kensai/mage, but if you are you're probably better off just memorizing the shield spell.

if you are playing a kensai mage, use your spells. memorize plenty of copies of shield, stoneskin, blur and mirror image and use them as often as possible.

    Thanks xosmi.
Are you new? Or have you just been lurking in the shadows? I don't recall seeing you before :)

Shouldn't a level 18 kensai get at least 3 attacks? Mine says only 2. That's with nothing on him or in his inventory. Completely blank.
I thought that once a fighter hit 13th level they got a 3rd attack? No more after that either?

Nope. Start with one attack. Get a half attack at 7 and another at 13. The way you get more is dependent on the weapon (some give extra attacks) or your mastery in the weapons (which also depends on what tweaks you are using).

If you are "completely blank" you aren't availing yourself of either option for more attacks.

Yup yup, the bg2 tweaks has an option that will allow you to keep Drizzt's stuff. Don't see why you couldn't otherwise. Do they have gps tracking on it or something? They always find you and take it away from you.

I believe some of the Staves have AC bonus as well.

There are, the staff of power and the staff of the magi both give +2 AC, staff of the woodlands gives permanent barkskin while equipped giving you a base AC of 3.

One of the more powerful combinations might be making a kensai/thief wielding the staff of the magi, since backstab will work with staves, and once you get thief HLA's, getting Use All Items should solve the equipment restriction problems of the kensai.

First, your K/T won't be able to use the staff of the magi until he gets the UAI HLA because it is coded as a mage only weapon. Second, you won't be able to backstab with it because it is coded as a mage only weapon (thieves can only backstab with weapons that a single class thief can use without HLAs).

Now, it's still a great weapon for the ridiculous invisibility on equipping property.

That's too bad, i was aware you needed the UAI to actually use it, but i was hoping you could backstab with it though :(
It is the weapon i am planning to get on my swashbuckler 15/mage x but since he can't backstab anyway, that's no problem.

Sure. Any mage single, multi, dual can use it.

It's an excellent weapon for a fighter mage type character if you don't mind exploiting the cheesiness of the invisibility. No backstabs, but you can still pop in and out and be really hard to target without true sight. With HLA's, you can basically saunter up to an enemy mage, power up a whirlwind and smash him to a pulp.

I think some of the smarter enemies AI mods make that very difficult.

Why use blur instead of Mirror image? You list both but why?

They grant different kinds of bonuses and stack. Why not both?

uhm..so you can use them both ?
Blur gives enemy missile attacks a penalty of -3, and gives you +1 to all saving throws
mirror image gives you up to 8 duplicate images (1 per 2 caster levels) protecting you from hits, as you take no damage when on of the images is hit, though there is a small chance enemies will hit you instead of the images in which case you will take damage as normal.
Shield sets your AC vs melee to 4, ans vs missile weapons to 2, also makes you immune to the spell magic missile (which is the #1 danger for quickly losing your mirror image)
finally, stoneskin protects from melee attacks and projectiles but not magic attacks. one exception being spells that turn into physical attacks, like magic missile. again, enemy magic missiles are a quick way to lose your stoneskins.

As you can see, they supplement each other, it's not like you have to pick one or the other to cast, so just cast them both.

blur for the saving throws, shield for the ac bonus and to protect you from enemy magic missiles, mirror image to make it a lot harder for enemis to hit you, and stoneskin so you don't take damage when they actually do manage to hit you and/or when your mirror images have all disappeared.
