My best fighter was turned to stone during a fight and spontaneously died shortly thereafter. Is there any way to bring her back to life? The only spell vendor in the area doesn't sell Stone To Flesh and Raise Dead and Resurrection don't work. I'm willing to accept that she is dead if I could replace her with another character of her level (she was level 10). It looks you can't import any characters other than level 1, though. Is there a download of characters to import or can I somehow bring her back to life without cheating?

That happened to my ex ... she just became stone cold and stopped talking to me. It's really better to let these things go and move on to another woman.

Unfortunately, that problem seems to happen to a lot of human women. It's a strange phenomena. This fighter was a half-orc, though.

Just create a new character, import it and use dalekeeper 2 to give him 10 levels...

I don't think there's any way to raise a character who has been petrified and destroyed, but I can't confirm that with 100% certainty.

You're right, you can't. if the character was only petrified, a scroll or spell of stone to flesh might work, though i'm not sure you can actually find that in IWD2.

Well , IWD2 is very different from BG. Although a petrified PC seems to crumble into dust automatically , he or she is not destroyed . All you have to do is to cast Stone to Flesh on the petrified character ( click on the portrait) and he or she will be back with only 1 HP .....

That's interesting, I've always found it weird that the sprite crumbles immediately. I don't think I've ever tried casting stone to flesh on the portrait itself afterwards (but mostly because I take anyone's death as a personal failure and automatically reload).

    What is Dalekeeper 2?

    ---------- Added 0 hours, 4 minutes and 26 seconds later... ----------

I found it. I think I'll just use this to create a character to replace our fallen comrade.

you can import higher level characters. say, if you export your character shortly before he got petrified, you can import this version of him.

I could do that but then I might as well just use the console to bring her back to life. If no one ever dies where the epic tale in that?

Unfortunately , there is no "normal " means to bring her back in that area . Sorry for the disappointment :(

Indeed .... actually , you can use the console to gain a scroll of Stone to Flesh . IIRC , the code should be ctrlaltdelete:CreateItem("00SCRL09")

That is why you stock up on those curative scrolls and potions ahead of time. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it when you can't get back there.

This is hardly new for these types of games. Even Final Fantasy 1-8 was like this given the number of random encounters between where you probably got that status effect and the nearest item shop (or the airship).

I should point out that is also why you should buy all the containers that increase your inventory capacity you can. Get every scroll case, potion cases, ammo belts, and bags of holding you see. Spend that gold, even if it means you have to pass up some magic doohickey as it will be worth it in the long run. Plus, they aren't that expensive.

The only time you might consider waiting is in the beginning in Targos, but make darn sure to snap them up before boarding Oswald's airship. I believe the druid and ranger you rescue in the first Shangarn area sell such an item (can't recall if it was a scroll case, potion rack, or ammo belt), if you spend all your gold on scrolls, come back later before you board the airship to pick it up.
If it wasn't the druid or ranger, then it was in the next area with the alchemist who sells the keen short sword.
