[IMG] Has anyone installed this from this SP site. It looks really cool but I don't want to screw up my current game!

[IMG] Sorvo I'm glad you posted this! I just visited the TeamBG section in the Editors and Hacks part and saw TDD. Even visited the site to read what I could. :)

Folks, let me add my voice to Sorvo's. I'm really curious about TDD but don't want to touch the SoA and ToB in my PC.

There were LOTS (I mean lots) of new kits, spells and monsters though, (even a Dracolich!)and 9 NPC's, some of them from BG1! (I remember the ranger who wanted vengeance against Tazok, he's an archer in TDD, and that dwarf fighter/cleric you rescued in the mines, of course, Xzar and Montaron).

I think its not downloadable yet though. (I could be wrong). And its supposedly a 300MB download (sheesh!) So, if anyone has more ideas or info about TDD, please post!

    --Edited--

By the way, will it be free? :hmm:

I know the guys that have coded this, and yes, it's going to be free via download. However, they've obtained permission from Bioware and BIS to offer it on CD-Rom for $9, covering only their costs, in case people don't have connections that allow them to download 300 megs easily. It's a massive add-on that has been in production for over a year, almost since BG2 came out.

There are many new NPCs and kits and a lot of new quests. However, it is not going to be compatible with TOB, so you'll need to finish that and uninstall TOB in order to play TDD. They anticipate releasing a patch some while after the initial release of TDD in order to make it compatible, but the first version of TDD will not be coded for TOB.

i talk to the makers on a regular basis on this guys :p

it should be out within the next few weeks or so, and will be well worth the download... trust me on this :D

and there is no need to worry about damaging your original BG2... it will make a backup of all your importants files (ie the TLK and KEY) and your override folder. So you can easily revert back to your original game.

this is going to rool! :D

    well :p Nobleman

that print is too small for my eyes to read, hehe. I do apologise anyway. :D

and i wholeheartedly agree, this addon is going to extend the life of BG2. I am glad to be a part of it, the only problem is the large Download.

but the CDs solve that problem :D...

oh yeah... and one last thing... call me deano... much better than Mr99 hehe

[IMG] I was wondering if the makers of "The Darkest Day" could possibly split that enormous, 300 MB download into something smaller and easier to download? That is, the section with the NPC's, the section with the monsters, that with the dialogue, etc. If anybody knows how to get in touch with them, could you please ask for me?

Shrike00 : read the above posts :D i have said about 2 weeks, according to the makers and on the forums.

Tiamat : I think it will be avaiable from all the Major FTP sites such as FilePlanet and 3dDownloads. Also i believe they will expect you to be using a Download Manager such as Download Accelerator. I shall point out your views on the forums for you.

If anyone wants to find out more i suggest visiting the sites... and go drool over the sceenshots and forum. Visit

I read that the disk will also have the 1.0.3 DSotSC included! Is this true?

i believe this is correct yep.

and they will finally be releasing it in BIF format, hopefully 1.0.3 will be as bug-free as they can make it.

    Which is good news. :D

Jeez!!! I wonder how long my computer would need to download it? (If it doesn't crash first, as it crashes BGII approximatly 10 times a day, god knows why)

    Oh. My. God.

I want it! I want it! I want it!

Have to wait a few weeks, apparently, 'til the ToB compatible version comes out..

New quests were mentioned, but not new maps..but some of the screenshots are of no place I can recognize..New map areas as well?

There were a lot of new areas in Dark side of swordcoast, so I think that there will be new maps in Darkest day, too.

There are no new areas (as far as I can see), but they're using maps extracted from various other Infinity Engine games, like Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment.
