I have those, I was looking for outside D&D as well.

I play all the King's Bounty games, but tend to like "Dark Side" the best.

Well, there's the witcher games, which has you go up against undead.
Kingdoms of amalur is more colorful and most enemies are bugs and beasts, but you run into some zombies as well.
The dragon age series, which has no real undead but "darkspawn" which come pretty close.

There are undead in DA:O, which are basically dead remains animated by spirits from the Fade (revenants, arcane horrors, wraiths, skeletons, etc) but they're more of a creature type you come across every once in a while rather than an actual faction.
Regardless, many of them are quite powerful.

Thank you. I grabbed Witcher 1 and 2 for peanuts a while back and haven't played them so this is an extra good suggestion .

Dragon Age Origins was indeed filled with such. It was that game in particular that got me a passion for fighting them.

At lower levels, stinking cloud and skeleton summons are just too good of a combo not to do. Then just range strike the ones who are unconscious. Web with spiders and free action on your fighters make quick work of undead who are immune to stinking cloud.

Horror is also good to try to push those who might have escaped the clouds and webs to go back through them again.

I also like sending in a solo skeleton to make the mage cast all their best spells, and just wait for their mirror images and globes to drop.

I do have one question, what is the spell that mages cast that looks like a purple cylinder around them?

Yes, if you mean the effect in this picture, it's from the Protection From Normal Missiles spell.

Ah, thanks, no wonder my magic missiles would just rip them to shreds. I keep meaning to go through all the spells and note what each effect does, but every time I sit down to play, I keep forgetting to do so.
