    Hello,

    It has been awhile since I've posted here. Nice memories about Sorcerer's Place - and glad to see it's still active and flourishing :) I've been very, very busy in the last years as a member of a Austrian-Hungarian-American indie game dev team.

    I'm the co-founder of an isometric, party-based RPG called Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness. It's in early stage, still under active development. I hope you will like it.

    If you don't mind me being blunt, at first glance, it looks like a cheap version of PoE. Not that I care much about looks, it's just the first thing that came to mind.

    That said, it seems like it has a lot of potential. One thing that does bother me somewhat at this point (and I realize fully that this is nowhere near the finished product) is the GUI. It's functional, but the look and feel of it are just.... meh. The UX guy is gonna have to put in a lot more hours. :shake:

    Yeah, Pilars of eternity was the frist thing i thought of seeing the gameplay video.

    It does look like it has a lot of potential, i understand that coming to even this point where you can show a working gameplay demo isn't an easy feat, but some things still seem clunky.
    I wholeheartedly agree with Keneth that the GUI needs a ton more work, it seems kind of patchwork and counter-intuitive right now.
    Similarly, i assume the voices are also placeholders, as it's noticeable that they are not done by professional voice actors in any sense of the word.

    The combat, while appealing enough from a tactical standpoint, does seem quite static - you're basically looking at characters going through the same atacking animations over and over, some more variation here would be nice ? mechanics wise nothing would have to change, just mix in some overhand swing animations with thrusting and stabbing, as well as a 'staggering' animation to show how you have to regain your composure when an enemy successfully blocks your attack.

    Same as Pool of Radiance 2? As BG EE?

    mainly the characters abilities and skill listing above the portraits, they don';t really pop for me, nor is it really obvious what does what at first glance.
