I see this thing mentioned in a few threads around the web, but I can't find anywhere to download it. It seems it's the original automated stat re-roller for BG2 (predating the EE-re-roller).

Does anybody perchance have it hidden on their hard-drive, and would be willing to post it here? :)

BTW, Happy New Year, all! (My first 2019 post.)

I've never heard of it, but I'd just forfeit the re-rolling, and just use Shadowkeeper to give myself the stats that I want.

That's not even necessary in BG2, just use <CONTROL>-<8> when rolling and you can set the stats as you wish. Only downside is that some races with max stats over 18 will require you to lower something else in order to get that 19.

Now it WOULD be useful in BG1, but I just use GateKeeper.

I managed tot track down the Beta 0.2 version of the script/exe, so I shot it up on the resources page, though we'll have to wait for our resident red dragon to wake up and approve it.

Why would you ever need one?

Agreed, with the <CTRL>-<8> trick, it's not needed at all. You don't have to allocate ALL the stat points.
On the other hand, such a program WOULD be useful in Baldur's Gate I without EE or Tutu/Trilogy.

It's still easier to just use an editor.

    In BG1 or 2?
Because <CONTROL>-<8> is even easier than an editor as you don't need to exit the program and load another but just fill in the stats as you desire in the first place, but in BG1 or IWD1 I would agree with you. IWD2 you can edit the .ini file to give you more stat points.

@xosmi Thank you, I look forward to it!

@everybodyelse You're right that Shadowkeeper is easier to use than a re-roller, but I somehow deeply and intrinsically feel like I'm cheating when I use it to set stats. Similarly Ctrl+8; moreover it sets your exceptional strength to 00, regardless of whether or not your class is a warrior type. A re-roller is more like an aid (in my mind, at least); a little shortcut, instead of a complete bypass.

That's some serious mental gymnastics right there. You're cheating to the stats you want either way. If you wanna play by D&D rules, roll once and keep the stats. :shake:

Well, you've got me. Actually roll once and play is my plan for Icewind Dale, once I've finished my Heart of Fury run. But my next goal for Baldur's Gate Trilogy is a no-reload, Insane, SCS run (I've never attempted it yet), and I felt like evening the odds by giving my protagonist more god-like stats. Also it kinda fits the heritage, right?

Anyway, a game's a game, and what people enjoy varies. I like to find new experiences, and what I love the most about the Infinity Engine games is the huge variety of experiences available!
