    Armor of the Apprentice
Made from an unknown metal, the Armor of the Apprentice slows the owner in no way and actually increases his spellcasting speed. This armor was made by Cromwell, but soon disappeared along with his apprentice. It is coveted by many mages, including the Cowled Wizards.

    Equipped Abilities:
    increase spellcasting speed by 4
immune to all charm and domination spells
can memorize 1 extra spell for each spell level
AC: 0+3 bonus vs spell damage
    Weight: 10
    Requires 3 Strength
Can only be used by Mage

Yeah yeah i know the storyline sucks, but you asked for it.. im not very good at making up backgrounds, but i always wanted a set of armor for a mage because the robes aren't very good(and yes i include the archmagi robes). I feel that the sorcerer should be able to have a little bit better AC than that. :heh:

[IMG] Ok here are two more:

    Darmand's Shield of Faith

Description: Nicholae Darmand was a famous fighter/cleric that lived in Athkatla several years ago. The legends surrounding him shroud who he really was. Some say he was bent on erradicating all undead from the less pleasant depths of Athkala, and that is why he spent so much time in the crypts. Others say he was seeking to gain control of the undead and make an army of darkness of them. Whatever the case may have been, his strong faith kept him from going completely mad as he spent an excessive amount of time in the crypts. Ultimately though, he was lead to his demise in the crypts.

    Statistics:

Special Abilities (cast once per day each):
    Champion's Strength
    Righteous Magic

    Armor Class Bonus: 4
    Weight: 5
    Requires: 12 Strength
Only usable by clerics of any alignments (multi and dual class as well)

Suggested in game location: In the room with Bodhi's coffin, the second time you go to fight Bodhi, in Chapter 6.

    Mystic Blade +4

Description: This bastard sword is warm to the touch, and once used in battle it gets slighty warmer. Each time it makes contact with another being it feeds life into its wielder. Many have shortly owned this mystic blade, for it has been known to give the wielder a percieved confindence in their combat abilites, and they have marched without thinking into a difficult battle, only to die.

    Statistics:

Combat Abilities: For each successful hit, whether it does damage to the enemy or not, the wielder gains a hit point.

    THACO: +4 bonus
    Damage: 2D4 + 4
    Damage type: slashing

    Err . . . okay, here's one:

    Morbid Dagger +4

Forged by a depressed and death-obssessed necromancer, this blade was made to further Death's cause, to slay the wielder's opponents, and eventually himself. The dagger is a dangerous tool, a portent of death itself.

    -Damge: 1d4+4
    -To hit bonus: +4
    -Speed factor: 0
    -Not usable by: Clerics

    Equipped abilities:
    -Cast 'Death Spell' once/day
-When strikes, 15% of killing target, unless save at +2
-When wielder is hit, attacker takes damage of 1.
-On successful hit, wielder takes damage of 2.

    ------------

    Suicide Iron, bastard sword +2

This strange sword, crafted by a wily swordsman, inflicts little damage by itself. Instead, it harms greatly those who would attack its owner. Katham, the late barbarian adventurer, used this sword to great effect, drawing attention to himself in battle, and the monsters that would attack him were all slain due to the potency of this sword.

    -Damage: 1d2+4
    -To hit bonus: +2
-Speed factor: 6 (or whatever a +2 bastard sword should have)
    -Type: Bastard Sword
    -Required strength: 11
    -Not usable by: Priests
    Thieves
    Wizards
    Monks

    Equipped Abilities:
-Attacker takes damage of 2d6+6 whenever he/she/it hits wielder.

[IMG] k.. my Baldur's Gate 2 install is currently wrecked. But you can find what I've made so far at the URL I posted above, check it out.

Until my install is fixed, I'll be posting just item ideas here.

    ----------------

    "The Blinding Eye"

Description: This perfectly balanced scimitar has runes of the word 'eye' running up and down the length of its blade. Legend has it that this weapon was forged and wielded by the legendary ranger Ariond Ilian, who took it upon himself to cleanse the Realms of all eye tyrants after his father was turned into stone by one of the foul beasts. Unfortunately after Ariond challenged the Beholder King 'Runeguard' to a duel, he was never seen again. In the hands of one such as he, The Blinding Eye will slay beholders immediately. In all others, it will simply inflict more damage and strike more cleanly. Additionally, Ariond also used another power of this weapon to render the gaze attacks of the eye tyrants harmless.

    Statistics:

    Combat Abilities:

Slays beholders instantly when wielded by a Ranger
+2 Damage and THAC0 against beholders
Can cast the wizard spell 'Blindness' 2/day

    THACO: +4 bonus
    Damage: 1d8 + 4
    Damage type: slashing
    Weight: 6
    Speed Factor 3
    Proficiency Type: Scimitar
    Type: 1-handed
    Requires 13 Strength
    Not Usable by:
    Cleric
    Mage
    Thief

In game location: On the Beholder's body in the Twisted Rune hideout.

    --------------

    "Jarnor, the Laughing Sword"

Description: This magical bastard sword was used by the warrior prince Jakkon during his ascension to the Throne of Ilyil. It is sentient, and speaks with a strange, jesting tone. During combat, it has the beneficial effect of confusing its enemies, as it mocks and berades their fighting abilities. It also has the effect of making the wielder more charismatic, something that greatly assisted Jakkon during his rise to power. Jarnor, however, detests Law, and cannot be wielded by those of Lawful alignment.

    Statistics:

You may 'converse' with this weapon.
    +1 to wielder's Charisma

    Combat Abilities:

15% chance per hit of confusing the enemy

    THACO: +2 bonus
    Damage: 1d8 + 2
    Damage type: slashing
    Weight: 6
    Speed Factor 4
    Proficiency Type: Bastard Sword
    Type: 1-handed
    Requires 13 Strength
    Not Usable by:
    Characters of Lawful Alignment
    Cleric
    Mage
    Thief

In game location: Not sure... maybe in the Sahaugin City, as there are almost no good items there.
