[IMG] I'm a level 14 party with a good alignment consisting of me (paladin), Minsc, Anomen, Jaheira (who wasn't very happy with me for shagging that drow priestess, btw), Nalia, and Jan.

I can't even seem to make a dent in that stupid shadow dragon, and I have an ass-load of weapons in storage at my disposal.

    Any thoughts?

There are quite a few posts about dragon slaying on this board; you might want to do a search and take a look at some of the tactics.

I prefer spreading out and surrounding the dragon so that it's area effect spells, wing buffets etc. only affect 1 or 2 people at a time then just let 'em have it!

Encircling the dragon works well, I agree with Kurgan. Also, fire remove protection magics at them, and conjure up some monsters to absorb damage while your fighters take 'em out.

This is generic (because it's more fun to figure out your own way...) But's it's worked for me in the encounters I've had.

Insect Plague, if successful does 1 damage a round for.... alot of rounds, it also stops his magic stuff that he casts every now and then. (its a druid spell)

Try some ranged weapons in combo with a couple of fighters hacking away. Yoshimo is best used setting traps around the beast to begin with. Haste, in this case, does make waste - of the Dragon hopefully.

For shadow dragon you can summon a pit fiend (a lvl 14 cleric can summon one). The key is to hit hard and hit swift.cast prot evil 10", then gate.bless the group then charge with keldorn using carsomyr(preferably hasted) as soon as you scored your first hit begin to summon insects with jaheria and then doom the dragon.magic missile or lower res. with mages.lvl 5 priest spell mag. res. work wonders if the fight doesn't start automatically-one cast and his resistance is down to %20s-good luck

[IMG] Of course, to get Carsomyr, you have to fight another dragon!

[IMG] Thanks for the replies guys. I did, in fact, manage to kill both Thax' and Firkraag without the benefit of this advice, but I'm sure others will appreciate it too.

I found the shadow dragon much harder to defeat, took me 20+ tries...but Firkraag went down the first try. Go figure.

All I did was haste, bless and armor of faith, then ran away and healed when either of them attacked someone in particular. Only had to resurrect one NPC each time. Nalia managed to sneak in the fatal arrow to Thax...stealing the glory from Minsc, Anomen and my paladin...lousy bitch. :)
