Still not got myself onlined with Alfa. Work, work, work, etc. However, I got back to downloading the hakpak (taking an age) last weekend and read the message about the SoU patch.

Does this mean I have to buy SoU to play on Alfa now? Or will the latest Bioware patch be enough?

I'm living and working in a land very far away from the plentiful wages of the West and having to splash out on yet another expansion pack to play the game online is annoying. Enough said about the quality of the original solo game. I don't expect SoU to be any better. I'd rather not buy it if I don't have to.

My understanding is that yes, ALFA is now a SoU game, and thus you need the expansion to play.

Yup its SoU&latest patch needed now :(

And prestige classes arent allowed yet as well. Also, no craft trap skill(=money abuse).

    A little :yot: ...
Since i got SoU and latest patch i got thrown out when exiting the game. And everything freezes
    Nothing helps but reboot.

[IMG] Hmmm. Looks like I won't be spending much time very far away in the near future then. Damn, and I'd allocated my next couple of months gaming resources to the Half Life and Doom games when they come out. Will have to make a quick reappraisal of priorities.
