I've played BG II for a long time and felt I knew everything to the game, even the stuff for routes I usually never take (like good or neutral paths). However, something struck me as odd.

On the Forgotten Realms wiki, Edwin's alignment was listed as turning Chaotic Evil. This isn't mentioned on Wikipedia. On Wikipedia, Anomen is said to be able to go to Chaotic Evil from Chaotic Neutral (which makes sense I guess) but not that Edwin can go Chaotic Evil. Neither claims have citations and I haven't run across them ever before.

I was just wondering if it was possible. Previously I thought it was impossible to have five evil NPCs in SOA (excluding use of the Helm of Opposite Alignment) but if Anomen can turn, he's the extra even if he isn't as great a character as the other evil NPCs. Edwin turning would make it possible for a party consisting of only Chaotic Evil characters.

    So, any verification?

[IMG] Anomen starts at Lawful Neutral and descends to Chaotic Neutral after failing his test or Lawful Good if passing it. There is no unmodified in-game way to get Anomen to Chaotic Evil.

Edwin is Lawful Evil, again, there is no in-game way to alter his alignment. The

FR wiki either has an error or expresses the views of the person posting the profile, or modded content.

I was under the impression Edwin was already CE in BG2, if my memory of the game is intact.

He is Lawful Evil. If you have Laufey's Edwin Romance mod, it's possible to get him to change his views somewhat and he will become True Neutral (I'm assuming he doesn't go to Lawful Neutral because on the D&D page for Thay I looked at, it lists alignments of Thayans as Lawful or Neutral Evil or True Neutral only).
The only Chaotic Evil characters in BG2 are Korgan and then (in ToB) Sarevok, who can become Chaotic Good if redeemed.
In BG1, Shar-Teel and Xzar are Chaotic Evil. Perhaps you are mixing up Edwin with Xzar?

I have the Collector's Edition of BG2-SOA and in the manual Edwin is erroneously listed as Chaotic Evil. This might be the reason for the misunderstanding.
