It is getting close to election day and editorials and endorsements have already started coming.

Any best ones-be phrasing, intellectual level, or irony (including unintended)?

    For example.

Here in my home state a newspaper endorsed a person for Governor thinking he would help balance the state budget.

He is already a County Executive and his County may declare bankruptcy soon.

    This would be unintended irony.

I've seen a ton claiming that Republicans are being elected just because they're not the previous people. Right. And how did Obama get elected, again?

That is part of how Obama got elected, I agree. And as someone impressed by some of what Obama has done I must say he surpassed my expectations in some ways.

So I guess it has been proven that people can surprise me in a positive way.

But that may be as much getting lucky as anything else and I don't think many people would agree that we should plan our future simply based on luck.

Oh, and for what it is worth I didn't hate Obama then and sure don't now, but I voted McCain in 2008.

I can list off a few reasons why I think Barrett would be better to have as Governor and would be happy to. Though I started off this thread mentioning the irony of this endorsement.

Big Mac! I always liked him, and had considered voting for him. I figured anyone Ann Coulter hated that much had to be OK. But I really liked Obama during the campaign better, so I was going in that direction. Then Mac put Palin on the ticket and that settled it, at least for me.
