So...What's the Best/Fastest way to transfer files and stuff from my old pc to my new pc?

I have an external HD (with a firewire port), DVD-rom, USB, and an extra ethernet cable. What's the best/fastest way to do it?

I also have all the BG/IWD/NWN/Fallout games on my old pc, what can I transfer, what do I need to reload? And what about downloadable content or programs I've purchased online? I don't need to re-buy them do I?

    Any assistance would be appreciated!

I'd imagine copying any data you want onto the external HD and then onto the new PC would be fastest.

You should be able to redownload any purchased software, though I suppose you should verify that with whatever vendor it is.

For the games you mention, you'll need to reinstall them and then copy over any save games / characters files and modifications you made, but don't bother making this selection if space on your external HD isn't an issue. Just copy the whole game directories (you'll need to make sure to get ALL of them; newer games place some stuff outside the Program Files directory as well, into the C:bad:Documents and Settings or C:bad:Users directory) and figure out what you need to copy back on the new box.

If you've got enough space on your external HD, just copy over everything you've got on your current hard drive as that's the only 100% certain way you won't forget something, or discover that you forgot something 6 months later.

I believe BioWare's NWN downloadable content can be redownloaded from your DLC account as often as needed.
