I just opened the Google Play app to update one of my apps and I saw "Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition" and "Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition" as the first two suggestions on the play store app.

I was just wondering, how well do the games play on android phone compared to on the computer?

I have the original Baldur's Gate I and II on my old Win98SE/XP dual-boot computer, and I'm not sure how the small screen of a smart phone (that isn't one of the extra large one) would be that playable, I can easily imagine touching the wrong foes in a fight because they are too close together and thus you waste your charm or hold Person spell on a skeleton (created with animate dead) instead of the hostile fighter that your pet skeletons are keeping busy.

I'm just curious on other people's experience with the games on Android, if anybody has tried it.
Feel free to talk about Icewind Dale too, since that game is similar enough that any issues I can see with the Baldur's Gate games would apply to IceWind Dale as well.

IWD is only $2 right now!

EDIT: I just saw that it says it's for tablets, not recommended for phones, for probably the reasons I just stated. Wonder why they are pitching it on my Android phone however.
It was not obvious until I went to the desktop version of the play store to get those links, on the phone I had to dig to see the warning.

I wouldn't even attempt to play games not designed for mobiles on a mobile. Tablet, on the other hand, might be an even better experience than keyboard and mouse, given the right adjustments.

Sorry, I can see that with a tablet 20 years ago before my eyesight started to go, not that tablets were common or had the horsepower to play such a game back then.
Now I need to increase the DPI on my old computer with the 17" CRT monitor even with my glasses when I used to be able to read it without glasses at normal DPI.

That said, the warning about not using it with a screen smaller than 7" does not pop up right away, you have to click "more info" to see it, or I would not have made the post at all.

I imagine that the warning is there for exactly the reasons I outlined in the post.
Although on a 14" touch screen I could see the IE games working for somebody with good eyes, just not a tiny smart phone.
