I've encountered a graphics problem I stumbled on before. I thought I fixed it by downloading the latest drivers for my card, but after seting up multiple displays last night the problem returned.

The problem is I have several verticle and horizontal lines on the screen while playing BG2. The game itself plays fine, but the lines make it too annoying. I disabled the multiple display settings and returned everything the way it was before the problem occured, but nothing happened. The lines are still there. The lines disappear when I set my hardware acceleration down to the 2nd lowest setting, but then the game starts becoming very slow.

I have an Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX with the latest drivers installed. I noticed online there were several other people with that had problems playing Infinity Engine games with the newer Nvidia graphics cards. Now turning off Direct3D and the like in dxdiag fixes those problems, but not for Baldurs Gate 2. Also no setting in BG2 seems to mend this either.

Is annyone familiar with this problem? And if so, what is the solution? Thanks in advance!

Seem to have fixed it by turning off 3D acceleration first in BGConfig and then turning off Direct3D in dxdiag. Turning of Direct3D first caused the BGConfig program to hang, so I could only turn off 3D acceleration with Direct3D enabled.
I'm unsure if this was the setting I used last, but it fixed the problem without slowing down the game or impairing graphics. I post this here because it might help others with similar problems.
