Ok, so.. I've tried about 4 Bittorrent clients now, this happens to all of them. Currently using ABC (Another Bittorrent Client).

I start downloading, it goes at a normal pace of 20kb-100kb/sec. Then some time later (quite inconsistent), the download and upload freezes. The program in general doesn't freeze, just the download. All I have to do to start it again is exit the program and restart it, but it's really annoying when I want to download while I'm at work or sleeping, I can't get big files finished (it's generally only on the big files, for some reason).

I'd appreciate any help from anyone. I'm gonna have to start using Kazaa again if I can't fix this problem......

    ...NOOOOOOOOOOOO...

    Cheers :) .

    -Barmy

Barmy, you can't get away with that here, you know how tough they are on the illegal download chatter rules, it'll get locked and you'll get bollocked :D before it does, my advice is to use eMule.

It's annoying how the first comment tends to be along the lines of "OMGz! Is it LEGAL?! No? I thought so! Get out of here!" when it comes to P2P. :nolike:

Barmy, are you using the latest client? 3.0.1b? Check it out from the 'About' box. If updating doesn't work, are your BT ports randomized? (Check options -I have heard that some ISPs monitor certain ports.)

The version is 3.0.1 it says, no 'b'. I can't see where I update it though, is this the same on yours?
The Randomize Ports box is ticked in options.

Try asking for help on the support forums of the client you're using.

I'm leaving this thread open for now, as long as there is no discussion of illegal downloads here. P2P clients per se are not illegal, only downloading certain things is.

I saw the same topic. I also saw that nobody had bothered to give any advice :p .

I ALSO failed to see a way of registering to that site that doesn't involve cash!

One is not amused :p .

Try Shareaza - you can use torrents on that. I hasten to add that anything I use this for is strictly legal. ;)

Can also check out exeem, even though its the fastest thing I've used its still in beta (kinda) so there are still very minor issues with it (apparently) but I havent found anything wrong with it thus far.
