Black Screen Problem

    I bought Neverwinter nights today. I installed it & all was going well up to the main menu bit where there is only a black screen & all you can see is the muse cursor, I would really appreciate some help with this so if any one knows whats wrong cna you gie me a hand?

    Sorry you're having trouble with the game :( There are several links off of Sorcerer's main NWN Tipe & Tricks page (scroll down to the bottom) that might help:

    In particular take a look at:

    and

    http://www.ina-support.com/faq/neverwinternights_pc.asp

    to see if anything sounds like your problem. I have had a quick look and didn't see anything obvious. You might see something though that sparks a though, for example, have you got your desktop running in 32 bit colour?

    Also it would probably help if you provided some info on what specs your PC has and whether you have updated your graphic drivers lately etc.

    Finally, I've had a brief look on the NWN support forum (official) and found this that might help:

    I've checked the sites & I downloaded a new video driver, but it's not installing properly because I don't have a nvidia graphics chip, does anyone know what to do. Thanks a lot for the help your giving me, I really appreciate it.

    Ps sorry, I don't know any of my specs (I'm not very good at this whole computer lark)

    Hmm, well, do you know what manufacturer does make the chip on your card? You would likely be able to check their website to see if you can download the newest drivers for your respective card.

    Also, this game requires at least 32 MB VRAM to run properly. How old is your card? That might be one of your problems, unfortunately if it is, you'll have to upgrade.
