Boots of speed...

    [​IMG] boots of speed don't work on Edwin!
    however they work on everyone else(also on imones and she is a mage too)
    i have the latest patch and the baldurdash fixes...i think that baldurdash caused this...but i dont want to uninstall it cus it also fixes al lot of other bugs.... help?

    oh, and my main char is insanely fast with boots of speed and the hase spell

    Welcome to the Boards. :wave:

    Do you have Edwin wear the Ring of Free Action?
    That might prevent the boots from taking effect.
    If so, take off the ring, put on the boots and then equip him with the ring again. Should work then. You will have to repeat this procedure after every reload.

    MR is the same with Carosmyr... You need to equip the sword forst then the other MR affecting items... what a pain :rolleyes:

    i keep the ring of free action in the bag of holding and the haste spell works on him... its weird

    I don't think ring of Free action affects boots of speed in BG2, at least I haven't had the same effects it caused if BG1.
    Try taking all of Edwins other equipment off and see if it works then.

    Perhaps Edwin is encumbered; he isn't all that strong. Check the lower left of his inventory page, and make sure that his carry weight isn't red.

    im sure it isnt red...he walks normally and the haste spell also works normally on him like on everyone else..its just that the boots of speed dont work on him

    If you've already completed Edwin's nether scroll quest all the way through, then the boots of speed will never work on him again. It's a bug with one of the effects used on him in the Edwin-Edwina-Edwin transitions. There's a fix for this at Baldurdash IF you have SOA only. If you have TOB installed, I'm afraid there's no way to fix this. (If anyone does find a TOB fix, I'll be happy to know :) )
