    Hi Folks,

My name is Alan Miranda. I was formerly the producer on BGII: Throne of Bhaal, and the associate producer on Neverwinter Nights at BioWare. Our new startup game development studio in Vancouver (Canada), Ossian Studios, is looking to start work on a NWN module as an additional project to our main one, and we are currently considering design candidates to supplement our NWN mod team. Would there be any scripters or writers here interested in becoming a part of that? Previous mod experience with the NWN toolset and familiarity with the D&D Forgotten Realms setting is a requisite. However, we would also consider writers who have experience working with other D&D RPG mods (like BG or IWD), and want to learn how to use the NWN toolset. Our preference is to find local talent in the Greater Vancouver area, but we would still like to hear from you should you be located elsewhere. If you are interested, please visit our site for our contact info – www.ossianstudios.com
    Thanks!
    - Alan

    Hi Terthe,

Thank you for the interest! However, we do require scripters with previous toolset experience. Writers would need experience writing for mods from other D&D games. Do you any such writing experience?

I have toolset experience, but I'm not of the standard of some of those who release modules. I'm certainly capable of putting a module together, though (although I've never actually finished one - I get distracted by new ideas).

I also have very limited experience with BG2 modding, although it's so limited it doesn't really count for anything.

    Hi Alavin,
Experience in creating a released mod is what is essential for scripters we're looking for. For writers, it's less of a factor, however, we do require that writers also have some experience with producing content for a mod project.

    Hi Terthe,
Unfortunately, if you haven't written dialogue/story/descriptions with mod tools before, I'm afraid you might encounter some difficulty, as we need team members whose experience will allow them to quickly integrate into development. But out of curiosity, what sorts of writing have you done?

    Hi Alan,
I am very interested in modding, have little experience with the toolset, but am a fast learner. Have been an avid researcher for years, and even though have little experience with comp other than being self-taught, I do have have background in game design, though many of the game I have worked on are non-published.
Also, could I add that I have been an avid rpger for the last 25 years and there are a great many games that are no longer available on the market. Great many of them have become collectibles.
Very familiar with Greyhawk, Forgottenrealms, Spelljammer,Ravenloft, DarkSun, BirthRight, etc. Other game systems in which to get ideas, GURPS, ICE, WarhammerRPG (OoP) and the whole of the RIFTS series of RPG.
As I said, not very familiar with the ToolSet, but can be very quickly once I get acces to it. Another that I could learn very quickly, if given the chance to work with is the Infinity Engine.
Do hope that RPG experience is worth something to someone :)
