Can't start the game?

    i had to format my computer i got everything back up on it including baldurs gate but when i try to start it says this an assertion failed in D:bad:Dev\Baldur\InfGame.cpp at line number 2316

    andyone got a clue what that means?

    I have had the excact same problem. I had to reinstall TWICE before it dissapeared as mysteriously as it came. Very annoying

    fuck im not playing this fucking game anymore im emailing everyone about this shit i install it it lets me click load game and stuff then bam runtime error abnormal problem wtf ? then when i try to restart the game again it fucking says assertion bs i didnt pay all this fukcing money to deal with bs

    Those (f*cking) assertions have to do with the game sending (D3D) animation instructions to your video card/s.

    The solution is to either get the latest drives for the video card/s in your computer and/or run the BG config program (it's off your start menu) and make sure that the video settings are right.

    It would also be a good idea to install the latest DirectX drivers and BG patch.

    You could be very right! After so many reinstalls, the problems cannot be the game itself or the savegame. Indeed it could be something with grahics. You are a smart guy Xuncle, we need people like you here! ;)

    Indeed, try to reinstall the drivers of your videocard. What videocard you have? Then I can give you the url to the drivers and a txt file how to reinstall them!
