Casting from scrolls

    Spells can be cast by rogues from scrolls. How is the level of the spell calculated in this case? Does the level of the non-caster character matters?

    Sadly not in NWN... when you cast a spell straight off a scroll it functions the same way as a one-shot item, at a preset level. I think it depends on the spell's level... iirc Level 1 spells cast at caster level 3 whatever the level of the person using them.

    You can find out what level exactly if you right-click the scroll as if to use it, and hover the mouse over the spell icon - it'll say 'Magic Missile (3)' or something, 3 being the caster level. It makes the majority of scrolls a bit useless at later levels since the DCs/durations are always to low to be reliable.
