Cavalier or undead hunter?

Discussion in 'BG2: Throne of Bhaal (Classic)' started by SORVO THE SLAYER#27, Sep 5, 2001.

  1. [IMG] I gotta start yet another new game because of TOB this time! I had a undead hunter in SOA but it looks like the cavalier would fare better in the expansion.

    Some SPOILERS inside:

I would definitely say cavalier since:
    (a) there are just a few undead in ToB
    (b) there are *lots* of weapon that offer protection from level drain
    (c) undead hunters are for cheating cowards anyway :D :p
    (d) there are a few dragons and *demons* around in ToB ;)

I would say go for the inquisitor.

As stated there a lots of anti-undead weapons, and dragons, well, hey tend to get their arses kicked pretty quick in this game

    [EDIT]
Though I agree with cavalier of the two you suggest. And deamons are pretty frequent in ToB

[IMG] I'm a cavalier man myself, both for Ragusa's reasons above and for RP reasons. I like the image of the stereotypical "gentleman warrior"; a dashing, moustachioed bloke who slays enormous, scary dragons singlehandedly while still leaving time for afternoon tea and cucumber sandwiches with the cheps at the Radiant Heart, perhaps followed by a spot of cricket or rugger and capped off by an evening sat in front of the fire with his favourite pipe and smoking jacket. The undead hunter makes me think more of a Van Helsing-type character than a knight, and evokes less immediate imagery.
In response to Lokken's recent suggestion of an Inquisitor, I'd still go for the cavalier. With the ubiquitous Carsomyr, even a cavalier can dispel magic (admittedly not as well as the Inquisitor) and has many, many extra benefits and resistances that the inquisitor does not, giving, IMHO at least, a more balanced and interesting character (especially as I like at least one totally melee orientated character :D ; perhaps this is bias on my part ;))
