"Ogg," grunted Groft as his head bashed against the top of the low roofed cave. For some reason it seemed to have a love of (figuratively speaking) swooping down and thwaping the hunter with the pointiest of rocks whenever he tried to enter the Hrogg Tribe's dwelling. Looking around he saw the usual sights which greeted him whenever he came home with the carcass of a deer slung over his shoulder. People jabbered excitedly while the latest fangled new invention was brought up to carry their next meal, two logs tied together, with two thicker rolling blocks underneath. They called it a 'cart', and the rolly things 'wheels'.

Groft slouched over to where a small shelf had been scraped out of the wall, what they were calling a 'seat'. In this he sat, beside several other tribesmen.

(ooc: Prehistoric freeform. As little magic/tech as possible)

The thin, dirty man looked up from where he was sitting and glowered at the new arrivals. Although he was hungry, he still felt a pang of envy. It had been months since he had caught a deer, and the others seemed to be casting strange looks his way. As if he were dead weight...or a curse.

It wasn't his fault. The herd was getting thinner, the deer weren't in their usual places. Nothing to do with his hunting skills. But the others didn't believe him. It was always the same, they had it in for him. Even since his first hunt. The ritual of manhood when he was given his name. When he saw that boar and nobody else did, did the give him a name reflecting his keen senses?....

Suddenly, one of the hunters shouted at him. "Hey, Jumps-At-Shadows! Help cut meat?"
