[IMG] Is it just me, or is this like the best weapon in the game? my fighter weilds this baby and he stuns almost every time he hits, occasionaly does 20 extra points of electrical damage, and hits from 10 to 40 every time. on top of all that, the swords special lighting attack does like 35 damage without the worry of hitting my own party members. i love this sword!

It is a cool weapon, and definately one of the best... but I don't think it unseats Crom Faeyr as best weapon in BGII. :)

the c fury is nice, esp dual wielded with crom faeyr or one of dritz's scimitars :)

elverath: the crom feayr is a hammer that cromwell can make from 4 parts, you need the hammer of thunderbolts, a girdle of frost giant strength (str = 21), the gauntlets of ogre power, and a scroll telling how to forge the hammer (found on the shadow dragon). once the hammer is forged it grants 25 str to its weilder, kills giants and certian golems in one hit (unfortunately not iron or adamite ones :( ), it is a +5 weapon too.

But you get the Celestial Fury so much earlier and easier.

I agree, The Celestial Fury is probably the the best/one of the best weapons. It deals massive damage, it's one-handed, a +3 weapon, and pretty easy to get near the beginning.

Vile, you call it pretty easy??In fact it is one of the most difficult fights in the game -excluding Dragons, liches and shangalar-because you don't have room to move, you are surrounded by hold traps(even a disintegration) and 3 really good melee fighters(one holding the celestial). For chapter2,it is a hard fight I think.but of course the reward is more than satisfactory. BTW anyone tried to dual wield 2 celestials? It would clearly kick ass...

What I meant was that it is easy TO GET TO, although I didn't think it was very hard to obtain with my solo party member. If I was a level 17 sorcerer, by myself, and was able to take out that party, you should be able to.

it was a tough fight for such a low level party, but only korgan died (i sent him in on a kamikaze mission) i summoned a nabrazu with protection from evil 10' radius and then i pulled a couple of their guys downstairs and led them to the demon. it was fun to watch. the guy with Celestial Fury killed him but not without great price to his hit points, and i wasted him easily. after i identified the sword and gave it to my now kick ass elven fighter, i pulled down the minotaur and the ugly blue thing with the halberd. they were dispatched easily with haste on my party. after that i got the cleric, the mage and the assassin to come down and, after a confusing battle, i emerged the victor. it was all great. not only did i get the sweet sword, but 2 suits of full plate mail +1! and lots of other great equipment also.

    Boy was that battle tough.
I casted Entangle on them to delay their fighter with the terrifying sword and then 2 more Web spells for insurance. I had Jaheira cast Entangle every once in a while while Aerie threw fireball after fireball. My ranger and Valygar stood back and pumped arrow after arrow into them along with Yoshi. Meanwhile, Viconia unloaded every hold person spell she had. Was going well until that theif backstabbed Aerie.
    Damn

[IMG] I'm going to have a go at getting the Celestal Fury after I do the druid grove, I have made my fighter (phycho bob) proficient in Katanas and Warhammers so eventually I will duel wield the Celestial Fury and the Crom Faeyr.

may not look weird to you, but it does to me because they are 2 completely different types of weapons. if you had a big, bulging war hammer in one hand, and a slick, slender katana in the other, you would have trouble maneuvering them around coordinately.
