Is there a typo in the BGII manual or has the Weapon Specialization Bonuses been reduced from the levels in BGI?

For example, in BGI allocating 4 specialization points on one weapon made your character a "High Master" and gave +3 to hit and +4 to damage. According to the BGII manual the bonsus is now +2 for both.

Thanks in advance for any info.

AFAIK, it's been nerfed. There is a True Grandmastery fix available with Ease of Use.

    kuemper,

Thanks for the info. It needed nerfed a little but they went too far. Now there is no incentive to go beyond specialized (spending 2 proficiency points). Especially when you condider proficiency points are now spent on individual weapons rather that weapon groups like "Large Swords".

Borsook's mix mod, available at RPG dungeon, offers the option to unnerf the damage without actually adding any attacks.
