I've been playing multiplayer in order to play the exact party that I want (a multi R/C, a multi F/T, a sorcerer, a Multi F/M, Keldorn and Sarevok) but then I thought, hey, why not use SK to alter existing NPCs to the classes that I want so that I can play the party I want and still get all the NPC dialogue (which I think is perhaps the most memorable feature of the BG series).

I figure I'll turn Jaheira into a multi R/C and Valygar, Haer D'alis or Viconia into a Multi F/T. I'm not sure who I would turn into a F/M, maybe Nalia. Imoen would make a decent sorcerer or maybe a monk. What do you think.

I've noticed that changing NPC classes screws up the game a lot more often than changing your PC around. I had Shadowkeeper installed, and then Tob, and it was all bugged to hell (NO text would appear). If you still want to do that, though...... I'd say make Imoen a sorcerer, Jaheira a ranger/cleric, and haer'dalis (or MAYBE Valygar) a fighter/thief. Not Viconia; it doesn't suit her personality at all. Good luck.... I have the feeling that you're gonna need it.

Don`t do it. I tried that in SOA changing Jahiera into a human duel class Avenger/Fighter. Thinks were often messing up or freezing. Delated all trace of the character and things returned to normal - beware.

I agree though that it could be fun.

So far I haven't had any problems. I just changed the class and the game conformed the character to the class when they leveled up. I used SK to add enough xp so that the first level up for both classes would occur simoultaneously. Jaheira as a r/c really makes her worth keeping around, Haer D'alis as a f/t makes his incessant chatter more bearable. I made Imoen a sorcerer but the spell progression seems a little out of wack so I turned her into a monk. There have been a few inconsistencies but I haven't encountered a fatal error yet (knock on wood).

    Excuse me? Bugs? Where?
If I understood this, it is you who made those "bugs". Not Bioware. Can't believe it, I'm not accusing Bioware... This world is falling apart...

I wish you a nice "format c:" so then you'll see what is bugs galore - made by YOU and with (c) and (TM) of course.

    Hey,

I can live with the inconsistencies as long as I don't get any fatal errors.
I like SK because I can enjoy different aspects of the game (maybe even things that were not intended).

Well, most things you can do without SK, by simply using the console. Like adding XP, spells, items, creatures, npc + getting htem in your party (like bg1 npc's or a balor if some script doesn't ruin it completely for enemies).

Though you can't change NPC classes, though I think most of the classes are there for you to have.

SK does make various happen from time to time, so I would consider using it a timebomb. You might be able to play the game without bugs using SK once, twice or ten times, though in the end, it will blow off and you got a ruined game.
