After a while of playing, usually 20-30 minutes, all my characters start to forget how to walk. They can walk to places that are in a direct line, but if I place the cursor anywhere that requires going around something, they don't move at all. The problem is much worse when I have a large party, and when I'm soloing, it doesn't start happening for almost an hour. I have to quit the game and empty the cache and tempsave folders, then restart.

Would more memory or speed fix this, or is it a problem inherent in the game on Mac's?

    Thanks,
    Von Pamp

In the BG2 configuratioon file, there are a couple of settings that affect pathfinding; you might want to play around with those. Also, in the same file, increasing the cache might help.

I have a Mac and found it happened to me. If it does all I do is save, quit (the game), and then restart the game and pick things up from that save. If you are in a large group you will notice you can only move 1 or 2 people at a time. Something else you may notice is that everything else in the game appears to loose the ability to move as well. If you have a ranged weapon this makes some fights way too easy when it happens. It also means that dialogues that require someone walking somewhere freeze the game. It doesn't always happen to me and I don't know how (at least not right now) how to predict when it will. But I just make due as is.
