Cheers for Sendai's Enclave?

[IMG] Cheers or Jeers to Sendai's Enclave? I did it again for the second time just recently and I really like the style where you do part of her dungeon and then you get to see her and her croonies talking. Did you think this added to the story or was a stupid distraction? What say you fellow ToB player? ;)

I think the enclave was one of the best parts of the series. The part where you have to run through infinite slaves and the final battle was also well thought.

And of course those cutscenes were definitely cool. I liked seeing her getting more and more frustrated as i came closer to victory :)

It was good though it didn't seem to have the flavor of the Marching Mountains. The endless battles were tough, but of course it was fun to slaughter gaurds by the score. The cutscenes where cool, but I couldn't quite come up with a good reason why I could see them and why I was getting expereince for them. *shrugs* Not that I really cared that much as it did add something to the battles ahead.

    hello
I was ROTFLMAO when I butchered my way through her dungeon, killing the spiders first, then the slaves. I really love her underlings reporting regularly (ohmygod .... your fortress is under attack). And I love the scene with my ol' buddie spectator :D

So all in all, Sendai's lair is one of the funniest parts of the game.

It is indeed one of the best parts of the game. Not that it is difficult, for it isn't, at least it wasn't for me. I loved seeing my beastmaster, Valygar and a dual-class fighter-thief-Sarevok cut through the hordes of spiders, dwarves, drow and umber hulks... And the Spectator is even better than in SoA!

While I couldn't agree more about Sendai's, I happen to think that both the Enclaves (chapter 9, IIRC) were very well done. Abazigal's lair was very good as well, the water tunnels were quite innovative, and the line, "Bondari Reloads..." was the first time I recall laughing outloud at the game. The mercenary scene was hilarious.
The idea of mages who turn into dragons, was innovative as well, except for one thing. The first one shouldn't have been named Draconis, as that probably gave the surprise away to many players. Then, after seeing that, it was no longer a surprise when the same happened with Abazigal. That is my only real gripe about two great areas, though.

(Sorry for the rambling, I'm usually more coherent.)

[IMG] Hmmm. Surprising. I figured some skeptics would find the scenes out of place. I guess Crawl you have to look at it that it is not your main character getting to see what is going on in Sendai's HQ as it is the actual player (you). This is similar to the cutscenes in between chapters in SoA (i.e. Spellhold with Imoen and Jon and you're not there yet). As for experience, I'd say you're just getting rewarded for advancing through the dungeon.
Although I did expect some more criticism, but oh yeah I forgot, Extremist doesn't have the game yet  When he does, then we'll get criticism. J/K E.

Not necessarily true. If you pay attention to your journal after the Balthazar cutscene, you'll notice it refers to the event as a "vision". So most of those cutscenes can be considered as character knowledge. Dialogue choices often reflect this.

[IMG] Speaking of summonning bunnies...I did. I was messing around with just limited wish in Sendai's enclave and I asked for a horde of helpers to help me fight my enemies. Well I got a horde alright, a horde of rabbits :p.
