My computer has been infected with the CoolWebSearch program, and i dont know how it got there, but that isnt important just now, the thing is, i cant get rid of the bloody thing, i have tryed using Ad-aware, Spybot, Norton Anti Virus. I know its this trojan as 2 adware program on the net found it, unfortunatley they were only free scans, and i would have to pay $29.95 for the product to remove it.
I have also tryed CWShredder, a program designed specifically for removing this Trojan, the problem is that it cant find the Trojan on my computer, and it also cannot find any server to update itself from, so hence it useless.
Does anyone else know some free progrma on the web for removing this Trojan?

    visit this site: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html
and look through all the variant, if you see one that matches your symptoms, then follow the instructions to rid your self if this annoying problem.
I had this variant: CWS.Xmlmimefilter, the problem with this strain is that CWShredder cannot detect it, so hence cant remove it. But i followed the instructions and its now gone from my system.

I think I had the about:blank version, and I'm praying I'm finally free of it. Even so, I was free of it before, 'till I booted up IE. That program is the Devil's companion. Give me Mozilla or MyIE2.

If you have Spy Sweeper installed, you won't have to worry about that nasty little pony...I had CoolWebSearch on my computer at one point...everything I tried to get rid of it failed. So I was in need of a reformat anyway so once that was all done I immedatly installed Spy Sweeper, and Zone Alarm. Needless to say I've been CoolWebSearch free ever since! :rolling:
